I enjoyed Pt 2 far better than part one. The chemisty between Hasset and Bottoms was very obvious and worked really well in making you feel like you were watching them actually fall in love with one another. I am updating my video collection and can't find a DVD version of this movie for the life of me. Makes me very frustrated that so many "shoot them up" type movies with gratuitous violence are immediatey put in DVD format while a gentle love story with a solid message regarding disabled people mainstreaming into our society cannot be made available in the modern DVD format. The movie sends a great message to people (especially disabled phobs) and should be made into DVD format so kids, teens and young adults with DVD players can view and learn a few valuable lessons in tolerance, how love ... As a high school English teacher, I tend to do a lot of compare/contrast work with my students. I used this video to compare with the novel, which my sophomore students read and listened to on audiotape.

Overall, they were disappointed and bored with the video. The acting is often stilted and stereotyped, although I realize that the parts were very difficult to cast.

The use of the original setting of the school was helpful for imagery.

What the cinematographers did in relation to "the tree" was good and helped my students grasp its symbolism better.

I felt that the video version left out several important elements of the theme, which was unfortunate.

Overall, the movie was mediocre but helpful. I hope someone tackles this key piece ... Read More

I watched this movie for the first time when it came out on TV when I was about five years old cuz my mom's a big Elvis freak. Almost twenty years later, it was on TV again and I watched it. I couldn't believe how much I remembered!! You can't help but fall in love with the movie. It's so good. It's hard not to believe what you're watching. I can just imagine the pressures Priscilla endured while being married to the King of Rock-n-Roll. And you have to wonder, why would a 24-year-old man be interested in a 14-year-old girl to begin with? Elvis was a little weird in that aspect, but he waited til they got married. Doesn't mean he wasn't getting it on the side while she was finishing her education and everything and staying true to him though. It's a great love story with a tragic ending and you can't help ... Then this film is for you. I was not crazy about the scenery. Being the Italian Alps, it's obviously very wintry scenery, and that's something I can do without. The fashion wasn't appealing to me (even though Ms. Taylor looks particularly beautiful in one red outfit). As for Taylor herself, she is stunning in this movie. The pre-surgery makeup they had on her (along with the excess padding) made her look very old. However, Elizabeth was only 41 when this movie came out, and post-surgery, the viewer sees a very slim, youthful Taylor (which is how she actually looked while filming). She plays a character who goes to Switzerland without her husband's consent so that she can save her stale marriage from divorce (her husband's in love with a younger woman). When he finally meets his wife there, he's surprised at ... Read More

I Don't want to discuss about this movie. all I can say is, it's one of the best movie's of it's kind I've ever seen and really worth to have even on VHS tape. but the question here is :

I have DVD edition of this movie. It's a Dual-layer DVD, Machine made, not a copy, with excellent cover art and on DVD print. It's 270 minutes, English removable subtitles, with real DVD quality and DD 1.0 channel audio track. It consists of two parts. Before the terror of Kennedy and after it. Menu is not that primitive but indicates that it modified from a double sided DVD into a dual layer cause in main menu, you have to choose between "Disc 1" & "Disc 2" botton to access to each part's menu. on the cover art has been printed "Printed in U.S.A.", It's NTSC but region free but It's not seem to be an import or bootleg ... The Incident (1967)

This has to be one of the more fascinating studies of human complacency that I have seen filmed. The setting is simple: Two very drunk street toughs trap people on a New York subway. At first, the people in the car are entertained by the two men's antics, which leads to the most disturbing concept in the film. For some reason, it's funny or none of one's business when someone else is being messed with.

The passengers on the train are perhaps divided too symmetrically and stereotypically. There's a homosexual, a black couple, military men, a family with a daughter, a young white couple, a bum, an older couple, but I think this contrivance is necessary to the success of the film. Our differences divide us so that we do not band together to come readily to one another's aid, yet we are ... Read More

My mom had told me about this movie recently, I remembered seeing it as a kid. The title came across my list of Movies To See and I decided to give it a whirl. I found the material dated, unrealistic and rather annoying.

Richard Benjamin plays a middle class library employee in New York state who meets Ali MacGraw, one of the most beautiful women of all time, at a country club swimming pool one summer day. He falls for the siren (and who wouldn't with her gorgeousness) and they begin a happy, carefree summer romance. Of course her parents, upper class and Jewish who had risen up thanks to MacGraw's father's plumbing business, do not approve. When alone, they assure each other "She'll get tired of him", and "It won't last". MacGraw doesn't seem very serious about much of anything at this point in life, Benjamin doesn't seem ... Read More

VHS : Wired
The lopsided nature of the book Wired is amplified in the movie version. While the book focused very heavily on Belushi's drug addictions, there were references to his work and other facets of his personality outside of the cocaine-addled, binging monster; there was at least an attempt to provide a rounded portrait of Belushi as a human being (admittedly a weak attempt, but one nonetheless). With Wired the movie, one gets little sense of Belushi as being anything other than an obnoxious celebrity who took drugs. In addition, the movie has Belushi acting in SNL skits that never existed, singing Blues Brothers songs that the band never sung, and many of the persons in Belushi's real life have different names in the film (as the production was threatened with many lawsuits even before filming began). The filmic convention of having the recently deceased ... Read More
