VHS : Pokemon - The Johto Journeys - Fire Power (Vol. 44)
The best ep on this DVD has to be "Charizards burning ambition", Its my total fave because of its so heart braking to see Ash say goodbye to his only dragon pokemon. Pokemon can always make you cry, and this ep proves it. If i could only get one pokemon dvd this would be it. "For crying outloud" Is mostly just for comedy relief. Its about when the gang meets a marill who is quite a crybaby. You shouldn't expect much since this ep features Misty. In "Tanks alot" Togepi finds its way into Team Rockets latest invention, the "Arbo tank". Along with a baby sentret. Its up to Ash and co to get both of them out safely. With a little help from a fellow sentret of course. Those two eps are not the best but the Charizard ep really makes it worth buying!

VHS : Pokemon - Jirachi Wish Maker
This is part 7/10. "Jirachi Wish Maker" was, in my opinion, the worst Pokemon movie. Jirachi was so cute I wanted to get sick. I think the plot line was too little for a movie. The majority of the movie seemed to be made up of cutesy circus tricks and a fake Groudon waltzing about. Not one I'd recommend for someone over the age of 2.

VHS : Pokemon - Destiny Deoxys
This is part 8/10. I think that Destiny Deoxys is one of the best Pokemon movies. The movie really stuck with me and I loved the idea of the battle between Deoxys and Rayquaza. It was great. I loved the technologically advanced city and the battle tower was great. I loved Plusle, Minun, and Munchlax. I also like the little boy's story about overcoming his fears. Prepare for a great watch.

VHS : Pokemon Heroes
This part 6/10. "Pokemon Heroes" really stuck with me after I watched it. It also has a great rewatchable factor. I do think the obvious reference to Annie Oakley was corny though. Who would ever name their daughter Oakley? Latias and Latios are interesting. I like having two main characters with this one. The connection between the two made this a great watch. The likelihood to Venice was great. I loved watching the race through Alto Mare at the beginning. Definitely a good comeback for Pokemon.

VHS : Pokemon - The Movie 2000
Pokemon The Movie 2000 is the second theatrical film for the Pokemon franchise. Before the film, there is a short titled, "Pikachu's Rescue Adventure." The actual film revolves around three Legendary Pokemon (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres), and how a Pokemon collector is trying to capture all three of them in order to capture Lugia (the "Great Guardian"). Ash ends up being the "Chosen One" referenced in a legend, and it's up to him to save the day.

This DVD release of Pokemon The Movie 2000 has some special features. First, there is an extra labeled as, "Soundtrack Live." This includes live performances of Dream Street's "They Don't Understand," Alysha's "Dreams," and Youngstown and Nobody's Angel's version of "Pokemon World." There is also a two-minute documentary about the making of the soundtrack, ... Read More

Just another video about pocket monsters? Well, yes and no. The first episode of this volume, "Ignorance Is Blissey", actually contains a story about one of the main characters of the series - Jessie - and I found this episode to be much more dramatic and entertaining than the usual Pokemon series material. It begins with Ash, Misty, and Brock arriving at Happytown in the middle of the night and looking for something to eat. At the Pokemon Center they are greeted by Blissey, the evolved form of Chansey, who turns out to be very friendly but very inept. The resulting cascade of cataclysms finds Ash so injured that he needed to be wrapped head to toe in bandages. Switch to the next plot, Jessie, James, and Meowth break into the same Pokemon center looking for a bite to eat and anything else they can get their hands on. What ... Read More

Once again, even though Nintendo Power will no longer sell the Pokemon comics anymore, I'm goin' to love this volume just like you told me. They contain the following:

"The Chikorita Rescue", featuring Chikorita, the grass-type beauty covered in a bunch of snow. He's the smartest of the 3 starter pokemon that you can pick at the start of the game.

"Once in a Blue Moon", featuring Quagsire, who tries to steal Ash Ketchum's special GS Ball.

And "Whistle Stop", featuring Ledyba, the familiar ladybug pokemon from Pokemon 2: The Movie. This episode is like becoming a coach in a sports game like football for example. When you blow the whistle, the game is about to start. It's also used for time outs.

The reason why I'm goin' to love this ultimate volume is because of the following:

Pokemon is the greatest show ever. It can teach us sime valuable life lessons, such as who to trust. However, if you want Pokemon DVDs, you should not get this one. The 3rd season episodes all have the same plot, and "Forest Grumps" is one of the worst Pokemon episodes ever. I suggest buying DVDs from the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th seasons, but NOT the third season. This DVD gets 1 extra star for "Fowl Play", which is one of the only decent episodes in the 3rd season, but "Love, Totodile Style and "Forest Grumps" are not worth it. If you insist on getting 3rd season episodes, get the Gym ones and "Midnight Heroes".
