VHS : Aladdin
Sure, there are the classics like CINDERELLA and SLEEPING BEAUTY. There are Pixar marvels like WALL-E and FINDING NEMO (which I adore). But for me, the real golden age of Disney came during the time when Alan Menken made animated musicals. POCHAHONTAS, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE LITTLE MERMAID, and ALADDIN are some. These are the real Disney classics.

I recieved this as an unexpected Christmas present several years ago, and was pleasantly surprised. I watched the film and the special features. They impressed me beyond compare. Besides the glorious film itself, the special features are some of the very best I've seen, and that's saying a lot. THREE WISHES, the comprehensive making-of documentary, is a joy to watch. The cartoon of the Genie's round-the-world vacation is short ... Read More

Though this movie is great for an hour and forty five minutes of entertainment its accuracy is something from another planet. If your looking to educate your children about the gods this isn't the right movie. However, if you want a little play-off on the gods and goddesses this is perfect. Its packed with humor and adventure, perfect for any ages. If you want some fun stories to read to your child I would recomend the D'AULAIRES book of greek myths.

From a middle school student in MA.

VHS : Treasure Planet
Pirates and kids are always a hit.
This movies translates a children's classic tale
from the Atlantic Ocean to the space of the galaxy
in a Star Wars mix of technology, Robots and cute little aliens ( Morphy).
Mutiny comes at an unexpected time, but the captain, the astronomer and Jim
make it away alive. Getting back the ship and bringing back the treasure
is another story altogether and it brings young Jim to his
full abilities and courage.
The technology seems more like magic and space like a small ocean,
but the fantasy is pretty flawless?
It is a fun movie, but lacks that classic edge due to the Disney 'formula' approach?
