Great book. Written in sense of "Gone with the Wind." Good character development. Really saw the growth of Scarlet, from self-centered child to caring young woman. Always had the feeling, unlike the film, that it was Scarlet and Rhett. Set in Irish history background.

What a wonderful piece of work. I love to watch and rewatch this movie. It really has a powerful message about having people in our lives who may not be able to function like everyone else, but that is exactly why they are so loveable. You can learn a lot from them if you listen and watch. Mr. Erman really got the point across. The cast was incredible.

This movie is absolutely haunting. I had seen it when it originally aired but recently got it on vhs and ended up watching it 2 nights in a row. The subtlety with which Bernadette Peters plays the role of the dying woman makes the characters impending death all the more heartrending. Her vulnerability coupled with her dignity really make you care deeply about what is happening to her. Mary Tyler-Moore also brings a necessary piece into this film with her sensitivity and compassion into her role as the caring therapist which coupled with Bernadette Peters portrayal complete the picture. They play off of each other brilliantly. Be forewarned that this movie is very sad but if you don't mind a lump in your throat and tears uncontrollably streaming down your face then this is the movie for you.

Well, well, well, if I didn't read the book first, maybe I would have had diferent opinion on this movie. But I think the way they end the movie did total injustice to the original story of the book. Correct me if I am wrong but the impression I got from the book was that Evie was his true love from the beginning and it was his realization of that and finally being free from his obseession over Silvia made it possible for him to find the music again. In movie, they end it the way make you think that Silvia was his true love then and now and her love and his grief over her death made him find his lost music. As a child growing up in the 70's and 80's, I thoroughly enjoyed the Wonderful World of Disney that aired on Sunday nights. This film was one of those reasons why I enjoyed the series so much. Child of Glass stars a young boy named Alexander who with his family move into a new house in Kentucky. While the rest of the family focuses on remodeling the home, young Alexander is exploring something else- the ghost of a young girl. Upon further investigation, and visitations with the girl, he learns the name of the ghost, Inez. She pleads with Alexander to solve a riddle and find the "Child of Glass" which will bring closure to her life and will release her from being a ghost. This is one of my favorite episodes of the original series. It is a great example of the friendship between Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Sure, it doesn't have all of the special effects and more elaborate sets of some of the other episodes, but it still ranks high in my all time favorite episodes.
