Fans of Robert Duvall, if you havn't seen this one yet, you've got a real treat in store for you. Duvall will steal your heart and soul in this drama about the early "wildcatting days" of the oil industry.

Duvall is simply, "Mr Cox". An aging wildcatter, who can feel and smell the oil that has yet to be discovered, during this time of the boom. But yet, with all this intuitive knowledge of where there's oil to be found, he remains, a down on his luck, drifter. Hitching a ride, he's headed for California, to try his luck. When the car stops in the little town of Henrietta for gas, Mr. Cox decides to stay behind. He KNOWS there's oil here. He can smell it, he can feel it and he's gonna find it!

VHS : Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman: For Better Or Worse
All of the Dr Quinn episodes will move you in some way."For Better Or Worse" is one of the most moving. This is the feature length wedding episode, that has Mike torn between her family's wedding plans and the townsfolk. On the more serious end, Custer is out to get Cloud Dancing, and Sully tries to protect his good friend. The wedding, a beautiful event, will at the very least, have you all choked up, and brings back the return of a few favorite characters from other episodes, and even Hank and Jake become unlikely heroes. The closing scene is just too beautiful for words.

This episode may also be found inDr. Quinn Medicine Woman - The Complete Season Three. There are a total of 25 moving episodes in Season 3, and on the DVD edition, "For Better or Worse" has commentary from Jane Seymour ... Read More

VHS : Forgotten (1989)
Like the movie's namesakes, this film has been forgotten, but should be reviewed and maybe the price will come down before some flaky remake by the likes of George Clooney is released.

The Forgotten (1989) is a well paced and interesting story of an American SpecOps team of POWs finally being released after 17 years in captivity, following very secret negotiations between Hanoi and Washington. But there's more. It's a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, inside a riddle. The team of POWs is not scheduled to return home to bands and parades, but rather they are moved cladestinely to a castle in Germany for extensive interrogation about their previous mission to Hanoi.

The pieces of why they are incarcerated and why the mission is still being kept under wraps unfolds slowly, but believably. ... Read More

VHS : Sunstroke (1992)
"Sunstroke" is the type of mystery/suspense television movie that you have already seen hundreds of times before. It's what is referred to as "filler". Its sole purpose is to take up space on some poor channel's schedule. The way they represent the city of Scottsdale, AZ is absolutely laughable. It might as well be some sleepy little town of a few thousand the way it is presented here. The plot involves people being killed and we are supposed to be concerned as to who is doing it. Unfortunately, you are never given any reason to care about any character in this whole film. Trite, boring and predictable...stay away!

VHS : Andrew Wyeth: Self-Portrait - Snow Hill
To know both art and the context of art in an intimate way is such a rare treat. In this film portrait of Wyeth I experienced the man and his creativity as if I were there painting with him. For any artist or lover of art, this film is a must to see.
