VHS : The Reincarnation of Peter Proud
I saw this in the theater in '75 and I've never forgotten it. An excellent reincarnation movie that feels very realistic!! Michael Sarrazin is a veteran actor but this is the film I remember him from the most (along with "Gumball Rally"! - I can't believe it's not yet on DVD.

VHS : Guns of Navarone
The reissued DVD version of THE GUNS OF NAVARONE is a great improvement over my tired old VHS copy. Not only is the film in widescreen presentation, the color and sound is superior to the tape version.

As with most Alistair MacLean inspired movies we find a story with a handful of commandos, plan gone awry with double agents in their midst, battling a large contingent of the Wehrmacht. One wonders what the Germans were doing with all that substantial air power, armor, and artillery on a small island at a time when the Eastern front was collapsing. The same situation was encountered in WHERE EAGLES DARE and FORCE TEN FROM NAVARONE.

The Plot: In a bid to gain a foothold on the Dodecanese Islands the British landed a force on Kheros. Unfortunately the Germans had other plans and ... Read More

VHS : Taras Bulba (1962)
I have read Nikolai Gogol's "Taras Bulba" and found the film with Tony Curtis and Yul Brynner to be a tasteless, cheap parody. The film does not provide a historical background or even attempt to explain the socio-political realities of 17th century Ukraine, but uses the opportunity to heave opprobium on the Poles, who are treated with some understanding and respect in the novel by Gogol. The film includes situations that may add effect to the film, but are not part of the book - such as Bulba hacking off the Polish colonel's hand at the beginning of the film, the attempt of Andrei's classmates to castrate him, the idiotic "duel" between Andrei and another Cossack, which involves jumping a gorge, and the equally silly "picnic" scene with the young Polish lady and Andrei making pitiful attempts at folk dancing ... VHS : Happy Birthday To Me
In a private school called Crawford Academy. There is a group of rich and obnoxious teens calling themselves "The Top Ten". For reasons unknown, they begin to get knocked off one at a time. And it appears to be someone they know. Virginia Wainwright(Melissa Sue Anderson) visits a shrink due to weird episodes, which links to a traumatic event in her past. Perhaps, there is a connection here.

Well, it's obvious that by the end, "Happy Birthday To Me" has been part of the blueprint for numerous slashers concerning mystery. And I can see the reason why, even though it follows the formula of the basic slasher. The plot plays with the viewer giving your brain a decent work out. Predictability is not an issue. The only thing obvious is when deaths will occur. The plot contains twist towards the end to keep ... Read More

This is not a bad movie, i like it and the chemistry between Norris and Gosset are really fun to watch.
Of course, it's cheesy at times and the acting is not so good but that's what makes it fun.

I recommend it, as a fan of Chuck Norris this is a must have in the collection.

7.Battle for the Planet of the Apes starring: Roddy McDowall, Claude Akins, Natalie Trundy, Severn Darden, Lew Ayres
directed by: J. Lee Thompson
August 18, 1998
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Battle for the Planet of the Apes
Following the rise of the apes and some sort of man-made catastrophe (probably nuclear war) a community of apes and humans live together in peace. It's the evil human survivors of the nuclear war who still live in New York City who have an issue with the situation and all sorts of hijinks ensue.

Probably the weakest film in the series it is also the one that really requires the viewer to have a strong grasp of what went on in the other movies, especially Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Still, it IS good sci-fi!

If the rebels can kill him, there will be uprisings against the British which they may not be able to control. But how to get the prince to Kalapur?
