VHS : Turning Point
I am very surprised that this movie had this high ratings. I may agree with others on the right casting, but this was not my genre. I mean, I love watching ballet but I hated to see ballet connected with divorce, alcohol, sexual relationships before marriage, jealous, mean words and actions, and swearing words. It was a very ugly movie with a beautiful ballet. The dance was exquisite but I didn't enjoy it at all because I didn't like the characters at all. When my daughter covered her ears, I had to turn it off. The peace came back as soon as it was shut off. I picked this movie because it was on the government's pick list, but I don't think my Heavenly Father wants me to watch this again.

VHS : Dancers
Dancers is enjoyable to watch. The plot is hokey, at the very least, but it has to tie the dancing in somehow. The dance scenes are beautiful all around and when those sequences cut to the movie's plot it is dissapointing but it makes you look forward to enjoying the next dance scene.

Yes, I admit, you may be tempted to fast forward but it's not nearly as painful as The Turning Point where the dancing scenes were sparse. (Or Center Stage which was a complete waste) In this movie there are plenty of beautiful dance scenes that overall make it worthwhile. Looking forward to DVD. Overall, it is enjoyable if you love Baryshnikov and the ballet Giselle. One of the better dance movies.

ROFL, yeah I'm going to pay that in your dreams. It is a good thing I don't base my review on the ridiculous prices of these outrageous sellers. If I based it on them I would give it no stars. Great movie with good story and cast, I will be glad when it is finally back in print. I would be very surprised if it isn't re-released on DVD. Just be patient.

VHS : Footloose
After hearing that "Footloose" was being remade (just in time for its 25th anniversary; god I feel old) with Zac Effron of "High School Musical" fame in the lead role made famous by Kevin Bacon, I couldn't resist revisiting a movie that was a huge a part of my own high school years. No doubt about it, "Footloose" is a film that screams EIGHTIES, defining its era in the same way that "Saturday Night Fever" defined the disco days of the Seventies (and perhaps the way that the HSM films will be seen to define this decade in the future.) It's all here: big hair, tight sweaters, tighter jeans, legwarmers (in a brief opening montage) and super-slick Eighties pop music...it was the golden age of MTV, and in many ways, "Footloose," like "Flashdance" before it, is a glorified, movie-length music video, especially in it's tightly ... My girlfriend and I saw this movie when it first came out in 1970. There was a scene involving the main characters where Barbra tells these guys to "F" off. I remember it vividly because my friend and I turned to one another in shock... "Did she actually use that word in a movie?" It was the first time we'd ever heard it used on the big screen and were indeed shcoked. I was more shocked when it didn't appear in the DVD version and had apparently been cut... however, the movie was just as good and as funny as when I first saw it and Barbra Streisand and George Segal have a great on-sceen chemistry and the story line is funny. There is nothing politically correct about the movie so be prepared to be entertained and shocked at what the movie characters have to say. Thoroughly enjoyable even though 37 years have passed.

This movie I watched over 10 times when it came out. Need I say more?
There is one thing some may not notice do. After his off Broadway play and he comes home drunk, he clears off the table Sticks his head out the window and starts quoting the paper. as he was pulled back in the table was back to normal, but no one had the time to fix it, only little flaw in the film. Well worth adding to your collection of love stories.
