VHS : Shirley Temple Gift Set (Heidi, Curly Top, Baby Take a Bow)
I ordered this supposedly rare color set thinking 23 dollars was a good price for fond memories....what I got was a 1960s-70 VHS quality colorized copies...yes the tapes are still faded and the color unnatural in spots...Hollywood can do anything digially these days but whomever is distributing and making money on this evidently does not care. Amazon please include a note specifing what one is getting on your site ..a disclaimer at least..you are too good a company for this kind of business selling tapes one can record over the airwaves!!!!Also they are coming out with DVDS in May I hope they are better...

VHS : Charlie Chan: Castle in the Desert
1942's "Castle in the Desert" is one of the very best of the Charlie Chan series. Sidney Toler does the honors as the Honolulu Police Detective, assisted by Number Two Son, played for comic relief by Victor Sen Yung as a young soldier on pass from the Army.

Charlie is summoned by an unknown person to investigate an apparent murder at Manderley Castle, an austere Gothic replica built in the Mojave Desert by Paul Manderley. Manderley, who wears a partial mask to hide facial scarring, is a reclusive scholarly millionaire and married to a descendant of the infamous Borgia family of Medieval Italian poisoners. En route to the castle, Chan and Number Two Son fall in company with Madame Saturnalia, an astrologer prone to seemingly counterfactual predictions that nevertheless keep coming true.

At the isolated castle, done in chilling ... Read More

VHS : Charlie Chan: Murder Over New York
1940's "Murder Over New York" is a solidly entertaining entry in the Charlie Chan series, featuring Sidney Toler as the Honolulu Police Detective and Sen Yung as son Jimmy, playing hookey from college to help solve a case of sabotage and murder.

As the story opens, Charlie meets an old friend, Inspector Drake of Scotland Yard, on a Pan Am flight to New York (frequent fliers should note the spacious seating) while en route to a Police Convention. Drake has with him the fingerprints and photographs that can identify Navaro. Charlie offers his assistance with the case and promises to visit him during his New York stay.
