Below average re-telling of the "alien lands on earth" cliche found in most American horrors of the 50's except this time its done terribly. The actors are all monotonous grade z-horror fodder, namely the woman who was in one of Lamberto Bava's early works, equally as bad as this. The story goes haywire when there is a midget clown attacking people with an absurd hand saw and the end doesn't really tell much about the intentions of the alien. Terrible film......

I saw this movie at the Las Vegas Film Festival and felt it should have won the prize for comedy but some studio release beat it out. It's a very original movie all about love and money and our status-obsessed culture. I particularly liked the final seconds of the movie in which Timothy Busfield sums it all up with, 'There's no such thing as a free feeling.' You got that right! But, weirdly enough, the movie isn't completely cynical. You'd have to see it to know what I mean and I hope you get the chance.

I have this movie on a homemade video tape and I don't know how long I have had it. I have watched my tape a few times over the past 10 years or so and frequently wonder why there was never a follow-up on how Katie (Genie) did after being separated from Ms. Curtis, the only person who seemed to be able to reach her. Katie's childhood was certainly not geared to raising a normal child, chained to a potty chair and fed by an abusive, mentally-ill father who barked at her and a mother going blind from cataracts who did nothing to stop the abuse. I couldn't help drawing similarities between her daughter's living conditions and those of a character on a Star Trek episode titled Miri played by Kim Darby. One poster called the mother "spooky" and I thought that fit her to a Tee. However much the movie's ... Read More

What else can I say about this movie? This... um... sequel (?) to a previous alien encounter film called Xtro is not only a blatant rip off of other, more popular Sci-Fi movies but it does them in the worst way possible. The script is a nightmare, the special effects are weak, the acting is weaker, and the whole idea just shouldn't have been done to begin with. Xtro II: The Second Encounter has nothing new (or even decent) to offer to science fiction or horror fans.

Have you seen the original Xtro? Don't worry if you haven't because this "sequel" has absolutely nothing to do with it. Not a single connection is made between the two movies other than an alien killer is on the loose. I guess director Harry Davenport just likes to name his alien invader movies Xtro no matter how unrelated they ... Read More
