VHS : Lisa
I saw the movie when i was a pre-teen, I loved it! I could totally identify with Lisa. My parent's wouldn't let me date, till I was out of the house...lol.

The movie rolled along at a natural pass, and the actors were believable.

I give the movie 5 stars.

VHS : Wanted Dead Or Alive (1987) (Ws)
I would watch any movie with Rutger Hauer in it, he's worth it. And he's absolutely great in this one. He has emotion, sympathy in all his movies; some laughable, some corny but all the same he can do anything. You gotta love the guy.

VHS : Deadlock / Wanted Dead or Alive
Rutger Hauer is great in both of these movies. In Deadlock, he plays a diamond thief who gets betrayed by his fiance, which lands him in a prison where the prisoners are the guards. Prisoners wear an exploding necklace that is linked to another prisoner. Go outside the 100 yard limit and BOOM!!
In Wanted Dead Or Alive, Rutger Hauer plays a bounty hunter who is seeking a terrorist played by Gene Simmons of KISS.
Wanted Dead Or Alive is a fast action filled movie with a lot of surprises.

VHS : Poltergeist 3
After recently discovering the original Poltergeist, I had to check out the sequels. But unfortunately, this one can not compare to the original, nor come even halfway to be as good as the first one.

The story to this one goes is that Carol Anne from the first movie is now living with her Aunt and her family. They think she is able to suggest and manipulate what people see, due to her shrink being a whack job himself. He is convinced that Carol Anne can make people think they see something, and suggest to another to break a mirror or something to give the impression there is a poltergeist doing it.

However, it turns out the shrink does not know best, there really is one and Carol Anne is kidnapped into the between world again, along with her cousin and her boyfriend as her Aunt ... Read More

VHS : Murderous Vision
Designed for television, this work happily is free from most of the irritating evidence that signifies films made for that medium, while enjoying above standard production values, especially when considering a meagre budget, and a good deal of skill is displayed by cast and crew, with only a weakly composed screenplay serving to lessen a viewer's enjoyment. Kyle Robeshaw (Bruce Boxleitner) is a discontented investigator assigned to a dull assignment as member of the "Missing Persons Division" of a large metropolitan area police department when a young female officer, a lifelong friend of Robeshaw, is gunned down while making a routine traffic stop. Due to his despair over her death, and in the face of the expected and obligatory cinematic internecine conflict between Robeshaw and his department supervisors he, in renegade ... Read More

VHS : After the Shock
There is no written synopsis for this movie so I'll give it a try.

On October 17, 1989 at 5:04pm, the Oakland A's and the San francisco Giants were warming up for the 3rd game of the World Series when the 7.1 Loma Prieta earthquake hit California. People watched from their television sets as the earth shook and announcers tried to figure out what was happening. The quake destroyed 100,000 buildings and 67 people lost their lives that day. This film is a docu-drama depicting the heroic acts performed by emergency personnel and every day people. All events are based on fact, performed by actors and you will hear from the people who were saved that day as they give thanks to their Heroes.

This is not your typical "disaster" movie where you see special effects of the earthquake. Instead, you will see what ... Read More

Has anybody else noticed that this film is actually cut? I remember seeing this flick at a festival screening back in the days and noticed a couple of scenes missing or shortened on this Blue Underground version. (same for Near Dark, Anchor Bay)

The scene where the syringe is injected into the eye is shortened, the scene where they smash the face of the girl with a rock is actually gone (you should see the stone hitting).

Quite a few of these new released horror films (Near Dark and Trauma on Anchor Bay e.g.) feature a somewhat cut version despite the "Directors Cut" label. For the ones that are old enough and have had the opportunity to watch these films when they came out or on bootleg, crappy :) but original video might agree with me on this one.

I'm not slamming these movies, its great ... Read More
