This is one of the most well done documentaries/dramas I have ever seen. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

What I dislike is the playing of audience's worst side.
The antihero status given to serial killers is a bad thing ( in moral
and social terms).
The publicity and books about them may sell;
true crime magazines go back in the 1800's, but
making the methods and motivations so public may encourage
others to do the same.
In this movie the female lead is done very well,
as is the staging and dialog. The movie is very well
done; it just have very few socially redeeming qualities
besides being a 'seller' at the box office.

This film squanders the considerable talents of several A-list actors with an unbelievable plot and a predictable and moralizing ending.

It's not that I disagree with the theme - I'm no fan of guns - but the concept of the film is simply ludicrous. I won't give away any details, but suffice it to say that this film thinks that conspiracy - no matter how silly, and twists - no matter how nonsensical, will somehow add up to an engaging court drama.

The original script must have been pretty good for these distinguished actors to sign on to the project. I guess someone ran away with that version, because the final product is terrible.

This is extraordinary acting - vincent D'Onofrio, Andre Braugher (always fabulous in this series) and the other great "Homicide" cast - but this story is amazing. Seemed almost more like a stage production than film/television. I saw the story as a metaphor - life, death, the meaning, the randomness versus design of it all, responsibility/lack thereof, the train....all of it. Extremely powerful in every way. Original, powerful, brilliant work.

5.Impostor (Dir) starring: Shane Brolly, Vincent D'Onofrio, Gary Sinise, Madeleine Stowe, Tony Shalhoub

Perhaps I am getting jaded, but I rarely find sci-fi films that I like much. There is nothing wrong or ridiculous about this film: it is an identity question, where Sinise is apparently mistaken for a robotic baddie sent from mysterious aliens at war with Earth. He gets into quite an adventure, running around to exonerate himself and in the process revealing a pretty complex (and unfortunate) society. As is typical with PKD, you are not sure who the good and bad guys are, so the viewer is kept guessing. Alas, when I got to the end, I wasn't that surprised, indeed I kind of wanted it to end because I didn't feel I had entered this particular future with much enthusiasm. It is a pretty run of the mill suspense/thriller hard sci fi.

Don't Say a Word is a confusing suspense film. There is absolutely no logic from the criminals perspective or anyone else for that matter. Michael Douglas looks so bored in this, his weakest performance ever. Brittany Murphy is the only thing captivating about this film, that girl is a rare talent. I cannot recommend this film because the plot is pointless, skip this one!

So it's a Tarantino knock-off. So it's too self-aware and big for its britches. For crysakes, just sit down, pop it in the DVD player and suspend your disbelief for 90 minutes or so. This movie is just plain fun to watch. It's on the very short list of movies I actually want to own.

I loved this futuristic movie. I would love to have a robot like Jeffrey to do all the manly duties without the hassle. This is definitely a chick flick.

Typically if I want to get a friend's reaction to my favorite drama ever, I'll have them sit down and watch these three episodes with me. They represent some of the finest acting and cinematography I've seen in quite some time.

1) The Pilot: "Gone for Goode" - It's Tim Bayliss' (Kyle Secor) first day on the Homicide Unit commanded by Al Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) and the introduction to the cast of characters begins: John Munch (Richard Belzer), the cynical jaded but dedicated cop partnered with the "close to retirement" Stan Bolander (Ned Beatty), Meldrick Lewis (Clark Johnson) is partnered with Steve Crosetti (Jon Polito) and Kay Howard (Melissa Leo) is partnered with Beau Felton (Daniel Baldwin). The wildcard in the unit is Frank Pembleton, the unit's best detective who likes to work alone. Lewis and Crosetti ... Read More
