Never had it crossed my mind that Ian Fleming himself was once an agent himself. After viewing this neat TV movie it doesn't surprise me how Fleming was inspired to create his literary hero, soon to become cinematic emblem. The movie begins with the origin of young Ian Fleming, he was a son of rich parents, he never needed anything, and everything was at his disposal. As we see him transcend to young adulthood we see a very similar persona to that of 007. If you have not read any of Ian Flemmings books, this movie is the best way to see how The James Bond character came to fruition. Excellent movie to top off your James Bond collection and who better to play the role of Ian Flemming than the son of one of most well loved Bonds of them all Sean Connery. Jason Connery is superb. This movie is a gem.

I really love Pirate movies. and this is great pirate movie. I am a person that looks over the movie well before I buy it an this movie is great, It has laughing , and loving, and sad, and it is so funny in some parts of this movie. Anthony Delon play a great part in this and so did Tara Fitzgerald. And I wish again that they made a part 2 of this movie as well. I wish they made more moves of Anthony Delon in english.

The production values make you feel like you are going along for the journey to the South Pole, and the acting is quite evocative. For me, there were so many memorable scenes, notably Cecil Meares's embittered but principled rant about Scott's unfitness to lead, the Amundsen's brothers cemetary scene, and any of the scenes with the gallant "Titus" Oates. It is enjoyable to see so many Norwegian actors in one place,and such beautiful scenery. The only flaw with this otherwise excellent mini-series is the incessant harping on Scott's incompetence and arrogance, which makes the movie seem one-sided and unfair, even if most of criticisms of Scott are accurate.
