Just as good as Big Bird Cage. This film stars the lovely Pam Grier also Sid Haig doing what they do. Sid Haig comes close to stealing the show from the 2 girls in this movie when he comes on screen to play his parts but, seeing Pam Grier half naked in a sweat box chained up takes the cake. 2 escapees fight with each other then become breast friends. Decent action with the budget they were shooting with. I enjoyed this movie and only paid 6 or 7 bucks for it.

VHS : Beast of Blood
Beast Of Blood is a sequel to Mad Doctor of Blood Island, and the last of the Blood Island trilogy. Therefore I certainly wouldn't recommend it unless you've already seen Mad Doctor. Like Halloween 2 or the Phantasm sequels, this film begins almost immediately after the events of the previous film.
That pesky chlorophyll monster has survived and has made it back to Blood Island after massacring everyone aboard the boat back to the mainland......everybody except for John Ashley that is! Ashley returns to Blood Island after recovering from the boat explosion in the hopes of hunting down and killing the chlorophyll beast....THE BEAST OF BLOOD! Now he's teamed up with a blonde reporter named Myra(she's kinda got the hots for him, and that's understandable coz who in their right mind wouldn't ... Read More

VHS : Beyond Atlantis
This is a decent movie. Hollywood has had a fascination with Atlantis like everyone else. This flick is no different. For it's time it's well made. Director Eddie Romero gets a couple of nice shots and without the use of special effects manages to add in nice cinematography.

The acting on the cast on this decent if not good. Essentially this is a "don't mess with us" type of allegory with the people of Atlantis vs. The Outside World (in this case in the form of greedy and murderous treasure hunters). The people of Atlantis are dead serious about protecting their homeland. Leigh Christian who plays Syrene, the lead Atlantian who is looking for love is very good in her role.

Unlike her people, she wants contact with the outside world and is very naive towards the words of men. Then ... Read More

VHS : Raiders of Leyte Gulf
RAIDERS OF LEYTE GULF (1963) is a low-low-budget movie from Filipino director Eddie Romero. After Gen. Douglas MacArthur's stirring, theatrically stirring, promise to return to and liberate the Philippines in World War II there arose a guerilla indigenous resistance movement there, as well as some pointed attention prior to an Allied attack.
RAIDERS OF LEYTE GULF is the story of an American soldier, Maj. Wilson, who is captured and subsequently tortured by his Japanese captors. Maj. Wilson was investigating coastal defenses prior to an American invasion of liberation and the Japanese go to great lengths to interrogate him, including the centerpiece sequence of this film, a water torture that's briefly and deftly handled. The Americans parachute a Lt. Grimm into the interior, where he links up with ... Read More

A question might be posed concerning the title of this Philippine film as to who the ravagers might be, since its storyline during the WWII setting in and about a convent commandeered by Japanese troops and subsequently attacked by an American (John Derek) led local guerrilla force, reveals that only the latter group includes sexual as well as military aggression in its style. Director Eddie Romero patently believes that use of dialogue adds little to a movie's sense of purpose and as with a great deal of his work, this effort is composed essentially of long scenes of various combinations of men shooting at each other, but with such as the wooden Derek and the rather untalented Bronwyn Fitzsimons as leading players, it is perhaps an advantage to let the guns do the talking.
