George Strait is not really a big box office draw and not really a "great actor" but it was a good film, and George did pretty good for being his first movie, at least that I was aware of. The music was really nice. I went out and bought both the CD and DVD. The story line was pretty good but not an action pack film. If you really love George Strait you'll really love this movie !!

VHS : Where the River Runs Black
"Where the River Runs Black" (1986 - 97 minutes), directed by Christopher Cain, is a beautiful adaptation for the cinema of the awarded novel "Lazaro", of David Kendall. The film mix religion and mysticism when tells the history of a boy created in the Amazonian forest that is taken to be educated in an orphanage. The tram starts when an American missionary, the idealistic priest Mahoney (the actor Peter Horton) - that works in the region where the waters of the River Amazon becomes black -, knows a mysterious and sensual woman. A child is born of this relation and Mahoney dies. The boy, Lazarus, is played by a 10 years old Brazilian boy, Alessandro Rabelo who carried out the film side by side to the experienced actor Charles Durning (priest O'Reilly). Educated in the forest, Lazarus develops a strange ... Read More

If you enjoy Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and making fun of cheesy old movies with friends this one is perfect for you. Not a good or complete movie by anyone's standards, this is a delightful story of a pediophile rapist who we never learn the identity of because he is always in his car. Note: this isn't an evil car movie, there is somebody driving the car, we just never learn who it is. (I think it's the gymnastics coach). Anyway it's worth buying for the hilarious and infamous cop flying boot shot.

VHS : Rose Hill
This was the worse adaption from book to movie I've ever seen!

I fell in love with Julie Garwood's book, For the Roses. It is a wonderfully sexy, mysterious, and funny story! I was so excited to find that a movie was made on one my favorite books. Boy was I in for a disappointment!

There's trivial things I can point to in the movie, but what's way, way worse is that the only thing that is correct in the movie are the names of the characters.

I was so PISSED OFF that the main characters, Mary Rose and Harrison, didn't even like each other until the VERY end. Harrison was a puny, annoying character (not at all lovable) and Mary Rose... well let's just say that I hate how Jennifer Garner portrays her. I bet she didn't even read the book! And then Mary Rose falls ... Read More

Teen Wolf II. Revenge of the Nerds II. Speed II. Dumb and Dumberer. Friday the 13th VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. Rocky V. What do all these movies have in common with The Next Karate Kid? They're all sequels that should have never been made. The first indication that this movie was a bad idea is that Macchio passed on it.

Hilary Swank plays Julie-san, a girl bullied in her high school. She's got anger issues, family issues, and the team of tough-guy jocks called the Alpha Elite does not help the situation at all. Despite the unlikely scenario of a high school boy's club that practices martial arts and enforces discipline/rules throughout the school, the odds of them picking on a single girl are even more unlikely. The odds of a girl beating up the leader of that group gets into the preposterous ... Read More

VHS : Gone Fishin
"Gone Fishin'" stars Danny Glover as Gus and Joe Pesci as Joe do a fantastic job of bringing to life two childhood buddies who are imbarking on a "relaxing" fishing trip. Things begin to go terribly wrong for gus and joe from the very start as they suffer terrible setbacks and mishaps which they overcome with childlike innocense. The chemistry between these two established hollywood greats, Glover and Pesci, is the best since Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. "Gone Fishin'" is the greatest family film we've seen in years and will remain one of my all time favorites. My whole family from Grandparents to Grandchildren have viewed it dozens of times and it still creates fits of nonstop laughter from everyone. This DVD is a must for everyones video library. Hilarious, a breath taking rib buster.
