Although over the top re what is normal, enough of the movie is close enough to what happens to a father of a bride that the movie is a must see for all fathers who are about to give away their daughter, as I am.

The first "Father of the Bride" film made us hold our sides in both laughter and tears, meshing Steve Martin's great comedic "Dad" character with the emotions of marrying off his "only" (to that point!) daughter. However, when viewing the sequel to this great film, I was cautious...too often, sequels play for exactly the same type of laughs as the original (think "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls") and thus fail to deliver like their predecessor. This is Diane Keaton at her BEST! This is a fantastic movie, with great actors all around. It warms the heart, and makes you laugh, and leaves you wanting more.

Shelley Long is funny and warm. Her character is beautiful to watch. Ryan O'Neal also has a flair for comedy. The plot is amusing. Sharon Stone is beautifully cast. But - I must say, that Drew Barrymore IS the movie. She shows so much depth that it is hard to believe. How could she feel so much and know so much at such a young age? --- but there it is on film. She is funny, deeply serious, moving and insightful. A very enjoyable film.

This is a very good action/comedy Julia & Nick are a great pair. This move is about 2 reporters always trying to scoop the other one on the headline story and end up falling in love with each other. I rate this movie a 9 from 1to10!!

This movie was well acted by a cast of well-known actors, wonderful costuming & cinematography and a must see if you love period pieces based on historical fact. The only major draw back to this movie for me was how slow the storyline seemed to movie and its predictability.... If the movie wasn't so slow or predictable then I would have given it a much higher rating than 3 stars!
