VHS : Brain Smasher - A Love Story
I wish this movie was on DVD! I don't own a VHS player and have been dying to see this again. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was about 12 years old. It was such a fun, comical, entertaining little cheese-fest. I loved it! I hope it gets released sometime on dvd or bluray for those of us who have ditched vhs!!!

VHS : The Sword and The Sorcerer
Yes, it's goofy. I love Richard Lynch. He can play really ugly characters and not need special makeup (kinda like Ron Pearlman). Lee Horsley ... did this son of a gun fall off the earth? In a minor part as one of Cromwell's villanous hordes is Robert Tessier. Best remembered for his cage fight in HARD TIMES (where old Charlie Bronson beat on his pointy-bald head like a drum). If you don't ask for much thsn this film delivers.

VHS : Radioactive Dreams
This is a great film about 2 guys that grow up in a bomb shelter and venture out into the post nuclear war world to see what's out there. I really liked the way this movie captured my interest from the very start. It is true that a post nuclear setting is not new to fiction or the silver screen, but there's just something very intriguing about how this story unfolds. The characters graduate from the insides of a bomb shelter to a world much different from our own. Living underground didn't just protect them from radioactivity, it also sheltered them from the corruption and havoc of what was left of the world for them to inherit. Having only books and pre World War III media to learn from, these young men came to the table with a viewpoint much different from the world that they became a part of. We find ... Read More

VHS : Postmortem
POSTMORTEM is one of those psychological thrillers that bends the plot lines and incorporates confusing motivations in order to forward its plot. While it doesn't quite come up to par, it is a tidy little thriller with an interesting performance from Stephen McCole, who plays the necromancer and obvious fan of writer Charlie Sheen's book on serial killers. Sheen himself is a suspect at first as the killer is sending him advance fax notices of the deaths, and a body is found in Sheen's garden. Charlie plays a down and out, alcoholic former cop who left the States to wind up in Scotland, where the movie takes place. Sheen sobers up to help the local law officials track down this criminal. Sheen does an okay job as Jimmy McGregor, although he seems disoriented at times when he shouldn't. The role of McCole's ... Read More

but you'll have to see for yourself. However, if you don't find this movie at all interesting it's certainly not for a lack of ambience, the cinematography is as gorgeous as any I've ever seen. For fans of the 80's direct to video market.

VHS : The Jean-Claude Van Damme Collection (Cyborg / Death Warrant / Double Impact)
While the plot, like most action movies, suffers a bit, this movie is still a lot of fun to watch. You get not only Jean Claude's martial arts prowess on display, there are others. The most prominent being Cory Everson who is so sexy as a bad girl it hurts. In fact one of the weaknesses of this movie is the fact that she is not on screen more often. Check out her search of Jean Claude's girlfriend. it's a real turn on.

Using costumes and some effect intended for a sequel to the live action MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, CYBORG is a bleak and apocalyptic film best known for securing the film career of Jean-Claude Van Damme. The film takes place in a future United States that has been decimated by a plague and internal violence. The film begins in New York City. A female cyborg named Pearl Prophet (Dale Haddon) has retrieved information stored within her memory that when brought back to Atlanta (former headquarters of Centers for Disease Control) should bring about a cure for the plague that has killed and is killing so many others. Unfortunately, Pearl runs into a group of pirates led by Fender Tremolo (Vincent Kyln) a big and ugly villain who grunts a lot and who has scary-looking eyes. While running away from Fender, Pearl runs ... Read More

I saw N3 first on cable and enjoyed it. So I wanted to see N2 to find out how the whole saga started. I enjoyed this, too. Director Albert Pyun definitely has talent and style. The script, though, was fairly standard post-apocalyptic stuff. Bodybuilder Sue Price was worth watching. She has a strong screen presence and one helluva body, too.

VHS : Kickboxer 2
There seems to be a lot of contention about the superiority between Kickboxer 1 and 2. I have come to like Kickboxer 2 more than Kickboxer 1. I think the scripting of part 2 is better, however the climatic fight scene in Kickboxer 1 is superior to Kickboxer 2. But, the journey to the final fight is more entertaining in 2 than in 1.
