How can you fault a movie that opens with a close up of the poster for Fulci's ZOmbie, features a George A Romero look-alike, and has the horror film geek's answer to Richie Rich - the kid with all the toys you wanted!! I mean, a Tobe Hooper autographed chainsaw!!

I love this movie and I salute the others on this page who share my affections!

**wishing for a DVD release**

VHS : Let's Get Harry
I saw this movie in a theater during my early teens. It is one of the most entertaining movies I saw at that time and so I thought that I would see it again. Unfortunately, due to heavy load of school work, I totally forgot about seeing it again. But, after all these years, I still haven't forgotten the title of the movie. Seldom do a movie make an impact that I remember anything about it. I especially remember the soundtrack of Let's Get Harry. Although I can't sing the lyrics, I can hum the melody. How's that? So now I am now hoping for the DVD version to buy.

It figures. Something like this was bound to happen to me. After viewing all the reveiws off amazon, I was just a bit curious of The Birds II. It sounded exciting, but compared to everyone else's opinion, I seriously didn't think much of it. Somehow I predicted once I bought it, I would make a regret, but no. I actually liked it. To tell the truth, I make no regrets about buying it. I loved it, which is the problem. In B low-grade movies everyone else despises, I end up to be the one who breaks that chain. That's me of course. I suggest this movie to anyone who likes sequels to good movies. Not as good as the original, but good.

Ted and May Hocken (Brad Johnson, and Chelsea Field) and their daughters just want to get away from the normal world. Can you blame them after losing ... Read More

VHS : Here Comes Santa Claus
As someone who lives in America, I saw the English dubbed version of this film released by Starmaker Video. I don't know if anything was lost in the translation or if this is just an odd film. My guess is the latter.

The plot revolves around a sweet little boy named Simon whose parents have somehow become political prisoners in Africa. Simon's class in school writes letters to Santa and he tells the jolly ol' man that he doesn't want toys for Christmas. He only wants his parents back.

Soon afterwards, the class takes a trip to the airport. Interestingly enough, Simon and a little girl named Elodie end up separated from their classmates and are placed on a plane. The plane supposedly takes them to the same part of the world where Santa lives (although it's not the South Pole). ... Read More

I saw this movie with my wife at the Bagdad Theater in Portland, Oregon recently for their Super Trash film festival (if that gives you a hint as to the quality of this film). Not to let the cat out of the bag, but this is an Allen Smithee film, if that tells you anything. It's unintentionally funny in a few places, mainly because it's so ludicrous. Watch only if imbibing alcohol.

Honestly, the only reason I rented this movie was to see Vanna White, and maybe in the buff. I wasn't disappointed. The love scenes are tender and brief, but you do get a glimpse of Vanna's great assets. She is a beautiful woman. She's not a bad actress either. She should have done more pictures.
I can't tell if this is pre-Wheel of Fortune, but the movie certainly looks and sounds dated, early '80s. It reminded me of Bobby Jo and the Outlaw, the only flick I know that Lynda Carter fully revealed the bosom that was jiggling most wonderfully in Wonder Woman.
That aside, it is a nice story. No Oscar winner, but you care about what happens to the characters. The guy who plays the stunt pilot doubles up as singer on some of the songs on the soundtrack.

Do not be put-off by the Editorial Review, which misses the point. Close attention (even to the edited version) reveals this story is about kindred spirits: the artist inside a contract killer (Hopper) recognizing the potential killer inside a conceptual artist (Foster).

Having reached the pinnacle of his profession, he is at a dead end; having witnessed a mob killing, she is "dead meat." At the risk of his, he saves her life in exchange for her absolute obedience. Now they must out-fight, out-run and out-wit both the mob and the Feds to survive. A pre-Tarentino attempt to explore a killer's humanity.

I'm waiting for a good version Director's Cut to come out on DVD.

Partly directed by Robert Totten, partly directed by Don Siegel and finally credited to the fictitious Alan Smithee. Baroque western, DEATH OF A GUNFIGHTER (1969) is a curiosity that deserves to be seen. You can find this movie, in a pristine copy, at Amazon.fr on a brand new zone 2 DVD.

As the title of my review says I give this movie 3 stars because of its star: the delicious Shannon Whirry. Ms. Whirry worked in a lot of better thrillers but this one delivers the goods by casting her as a stripper. That was a part she was born to play with that body! If you want to see Shannon Whirry bump and grind and take it off try this movie. If you want a good erotic thriller with the Goddess of the B's try Body of Influence, Mirror Images 2, Lady In Waiting or either of the Animal Instincts films.
