VHS : Friendship In Vienna
This is a beautiful and moving story about friendship and the high price that so many innocent people paid. This story like others gives in-sight into just the type of things that had to be done in order to survive and it gives the viewer the rare ability to see a story of survival. What one friend does for another is truly amazing. Because as Lisa tells her priest.... not saving three people from harm.... must surely dis-obey the laws of GOD. I truly wish that this movie were available on DVD.

VHS : Max & Helen
the story is based on Simon Wiesenthal the "Nazi Hunter" and a couple who survived the Holocaust. This rare example of how the human heart can effect the scale of justice is a lesson worth learning. The movie demonstrates that to punish the guilty, one might have to choose to punish the innocent even more. This is the "catch 22" Mr. Wiesenthal finds himself. See for yourself how difficult it was for all concerned and what would you have done, if you had to make this life changing choice. Must see situation!!

VHS : The Fall
I rented this movie because it had Jurgen Prochnow in it, but they wasted a fine actor. The whole movie is a waste. This is a low budget, poorly written and acted supposed thriller. There aren't too many thrills, but a lot of bad dialog, contrived situations and a lead character that does one stupid, implausible thing after another.

VHS : Lily in Love
Fans of Christopher Plummer will not want to miss this movie, as he has a dual role: the rather arrogant and ascerbic Fitzroy Winn and his "alter-ego", Roberto Terranova. Fitz, an actor and Lily, a playwright have a long and now troubled marriage. Fitz's dream is to make it really big in a film and when he finds a new script that Lily has written, he sees his chance. However, Lily is having none of it! She wants a different actor for the part. So Fitz, unbeknownst to Lily, becomes Roberto Terranova and gets the role. But what will happen to their marriage when it turns out that Lily is very attracted to Roberto?!

This is a little bit of a departure for Christopher Plummer, but a very enjoyable one, as he gets to try some comedy. And, as always, he is excellent! Maggie Smith is terrific ... Read More

VHS : Shot Through the Heart
This movie was an incredibly accurate depiction of one of the most horrific crimes of the 21st century. At the heart of the story is the beginning of a war, the end of a friendship and perhaps one of the most heart wrenching stories of all time. Linus Roache and Vincent Perez were perfect casting! Enjoy...

Great movie but in the version I saw originally it was very hard to read the translation, especially in the early scenes that had a white, snowy background. All translated movies should be letterboxed with the translation a light color against the background of black. Not all of us are conversant in French. That's the only thing preventing me from giving it five stars--it's that delightful and unusual
