We have enjoyed watching this movie over and over, so we bought an extra copy. It is hard to find on dvd but is available. It is a wonderful family oriented movie about a young man becoming a priest and being trained by an enjoyable priest (Jack Lemmon). Hilarious as well as wonderful content.

VHS : Echoes in the Darkness
To those from the King of Prussia Area (like myself), there are references and allusions to places (VF park, etc.) and some interesting exaggerated portrayal of characters, some of which I had for teachers (Pat Schnure, Vince Valaitis)

To those not from the area, it is still a sickening psychological drama that will keep you locked to the TV for the full 4+ hours (ended up watching it till 3 in the morning). The outcome is known, but the choppiness of the plot keeps the viewer actively watching, trying to figure out what has happend, and what is about to happen. The end of the movie with the cases ties everything together to leave the viewer highly satisfied. For those who like intellectually stimulating movies, a must-see. For those who are more interested in comedy, thrills, or screams, ... Read More

VHS : All My Sons
This is the performance of All My Sons to own since the play is done in its entirety, unlike the watered down 1948 film version where the role of Kate Keller is reduced to tatters. Here the play takes on full dimensions buoyed no doubt by the extraordinary performances of a cast consumed by their work. Special note must be given to Michael Learned who brings such power and intensity to the mother, she transcends her own mastery. And as the son of Steve Deever, the former partner of Joe Keller who is still serving prison time, Zselko Ivanek's George is a small gem. The vhs may be pricey but worth every penny. This is a production Arthur Miller would have cheered for.

4.Dash & Lilly starring: Sam Shepard, Judy Davis, Bebe Neuwirth, Laurence Luckinbill, David Paymer

VHS : Ellen Foster
The Movie "Ellen Foster" followed the journey that a young abused girl takes to find a place to call home. Based on the book written by Kaye Gibbons, this horrifying but yet modern story makes the common day person thankful for their wonderful but not perfect life. With both famous screen stars such as Jena Malone and Amanda Peet and debuting cast such as Allison Jones, this movie is definetly one to put in a time capsul. Honorable mentions also include Kate Burton, Ted Levine, Julie Harris, Debra Monk, Glynnis O'Connor and director John Erman. With a star studded cast list and amazing author of the movie's base, this movie is set for life.

Ellen Hammond (Malone) was a young girl with adult-like maturity. Many children her age had never seen or felt what she had. When the movie opens, we see ... Read More

This obscure gem of a film is clearly a labor of love by Matthew Broderick, who directed it and stars as Nobel Laureate Richard Feynman in the story of his first marriage.

Broderick ensures that we get a picture of Feynman's quirky personality, the very embodiment of the Scientific Method and iconoclastic clowning. But, the focus is clearly on his growing love for Aline, their marriage, and their life together.

The film has a little more science than most Americans are comfortable with, but it's not overwhelming, and it serves to illuminate the relationship between Richard and Aline.

VHS : Homicide - The Movie
I see that most people are asking a pretty outrageous price for this movie whenever it comes available. It is a great conclusion to a great series, and not only brings the entire cumulative Homicide cast from all seven seasons together one last time, it also wraps up Tim Bayliss' story from the series finale. However, for under two hundred dollars, you can buy the "Homicide Life on the Street - Complete Series Megaset" and have all seven seasons of Homicide, the Law and Order cross-over episodes, bunches of extra features, and this movie all on DVD. I consider that to be a much better buy.

VHS : Alice in Wonderland (Broadway Theatre Archive)
The play is based on two books by Lewis Carroll "Alice's Adventures Underground" and "Through the Looking-glass." There have been several presentations, each with it own strength or weakness. This is a 1993 TV presentation of which you can see that lots of time and energy went in to it,

We go through the story at light speed only to slow down for a few badly placed songs. This presentation should be an embarrassment to everyone involved. However if you did not know any better a log of Lewis Carroll's humor and way with words comes through. There is a little television trickery that actually helps the presentation.

You would think with such a great cast that it could not fail:
Kate Burton as Alice (at 26 years old)
Austin Pendleton as White Rabbit
Richard Burton as White Knight
James Coco ... Read More
