I ordered this product on October 25, 2008. I did not recieve this product until November 22, 2008. I feel the shipping is too much and for the price that I did pay, I feel that my merchandise shouldve arrived sooner. Forget about trying to give gift certificates to anyone for a gift as the shipping and handling is outrageous. Also, when I explained I did not receive my DVD (used), I was asked if I would like another sent out. It shouldve been an automatic response to send another!

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: From the Secret Files of Harry Pennypacker
Shadow Watcher
Nobody Drowns in Mineral Lake

Stanley R. Jaffe directed this excellent 1983 film, adapted by Beth Gutcheon from her novel, STILL MISSING, which was, in turn, based on an actual case of a missing child.

One morning, college professor Kate Nelligan watches her nearly seven-year-old son go off to school, only to discover later that he never arrived there. Judd Hirsch plays the NYC detective who leads the investigation that stretches over days and months, takes several wrong turns and, ultimately, appears to have a tragic conclusion.

But, unlike the real case, the producers have given this movie an unexpected happy, uplifting ending that is guaranteed to bring ... Read More

When we viewed this movie on TV, it did not contain profanity. We purchased it because it was so funny, and we wanted to share it with our grandchildren. That will not happen. Your review should have stated not appropriate for children because of language.

I've owned this video for years and am going to transfer it to dvd as I can't find it on that media.

I found many parts of this movie poignant, and the chase scene probably one of the most, if not THE most, hysterical in movie history.

If you don't find assisted suicide distasteful, or at least can understand the reasons for a person wishing to decide for themselves what their quality of life is and should be, do buy this movie.

VHS : The Out of Towners
*** 1999. Directed by Sam Weisman. When I read that the estimated budget of this film is $40,000,000, I wonder where all the money went. I suppose Steve Martin, Goldie Hawn and John Cleese were well paid but, still, I'm sure there was some money left. I really don't understand why this enhanced stage play cost so much. Anyway, my kids loved the movie, my wife and I laughed two or three times and that's about it. In short, enjoyable but already forgotten.

VHS : The Man Who Came to Dinner
An updated version of the orignal movie, the actors bring to life the time period and the references are still valid today. Nathan Lane is hilarious and Jean Smart really plays her part to the hilt.

While this book is technically a "novella", it packs a lot of punch for its 114 pages. If you're looking for a light, fun read, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

The plot is almost incidental to the internal dialogue. After all, nothing much really happens. We're introduced to "Tommy Wilhelm" as he buys his morning newspaper. Then he goes to breakfast with his father. Then he meets an aquaintance and and they go to the stock market. Then he helps an old man find a cigar store. Exciting stuff, right?

Well, yes it is actually--because of what's going on underneath. Our man, Wilhelm, is facing financail ruin and a crushing, emotional crisis, and nobody can really help. Moreover, he can't even pinpoint what the crisis is about. Somehow, things just didn't turn out right. So he's adrift, ... Read More

VHS : Elvira Mistress of the Dark
Elvira's first feature film Mistress of the Dark is such an appealing, campy, clever, funny romp with great one-liners and charming performances all around! Tired of hosting cheap horror films and being harassed at work, Elvira dreams of performing her own show in Las Vegas. As luck would have it, she receives a telegram after quitting her job notifying her that her great aunt has passed away and can she come to Falwell, Massachusetts for the reading of the will. As Elvira says "I didn't even know I had a good aunt much less a great one!" Thinking she will be picking up a big inheritance to pay for her show in Vegas, she sets off for the quiet, conservative town of Falwell. Unfortunately, her car breaks down when she arrives and the reading of the will doesn't quite go as expected. Now she must begin looking for ... Read More
