VHS : Good-bye, My Lady
I was a little girl when my family saw this movie on a Friday night at the Drive-in theater when it was first released, way back when. The next morning Dad found a kennel in Santa Ana, CA that had basenji's and we went to check them out. Came home that day with a petite 6 month old red and white girl. 2 years later we added a Tri-colored boy to the family. I fell madly in love with them and always wanted one but could never afford the high price tag. Last summer I discovered the Basenji Rescue and Transport website on the internet and started watching for a red and white rescue basenji female. Thanksgiving Day "Gracie" came to live with my husband and I and we are in love. I still can't believe I have such a beautiful, sweet red girl on the end of the leash when we are out walking. Thank you ... Read More

This is without a doubt one of the top five movies of all time. The acting is superb and the movie keeps you interested through out. Gary Cooper is brilliant, but the actress who plays Mother York, Margaret Wycherly, steals the show. I have seen this movie several times in my lifetime and I become deeply engrossed everytime I watch it. This is one of the best bargains ($10.99) you will ever find for a DVD. The second DVD, Sergeant York: An American Hero is also outstanding as well. This is definitely a must see movie. They definitely don't make movies like tis one in this day and age.

This film is still not on dvd, and it should be. This movie is really a guilty preasure, in that, it is all the things a movie should not be. Historically inacurrate, and all Hollywood from the get go. But, that was the way it was until audiances became too sufficiated for bad directing. Despite all that, I love this movie, because of those reasons. The truth would only paint Tracys character much differently, and we might end up hating the hero more then the indians. There are many lines in this film that are memorable. My favorite is when Tracy says "If she gives you any trouble, stick her in the rump with a bannoet." My second favorite line was so laughable I still laugh as I'm about to write it. After the indian maccacre is over Tracy is trying on the local foot wear and in an angry fit says, ... Read More

In todays hustle and bustle world, it's nice to occasionally relax and watch an old fashioned western with real "good guys". This movie is fun entertainment for the whole family and even has a little singing with Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson. I'm so glad we still have movies like this available on disc.

VHS : Support Your Local Sheriff
By 1969, revolution was in the air in the United States. All kinds of institutions were under question or attack. So it was a perfect time for the funniest spoof ever of the heroic Western. James Garner stars in "Support Your Local Sheriff" as Jason McCullough, who rides into the frontier town of Calendar. Calendar was a sleepy little outpost until the discovery of gold a short time before McCullough's arrival. Then all h--- broke loose. He's soon persuaded to take up the sheriff's badge, which is vacant (and dented) since all the previous sheriffs have been killed or fled. He insists he's really on his way to Australia, but doesn't seem to be in any real hurry to get there. Garner's charm, timing and delivery, as ever, are magnificent, and he's surrounded by a first-rate supporting cast.

There's a love ... Read More

This is one of the greatest westerns ever made. I've seen all the Earp movies and this is by far the best.
