VHS : Saving Private Ryan
Impressive. All 5/5 stars for the first 15-20 minutes of the movie and the whole story of course is magnificent. Awesome! This is my favorite WW II movie. Great job and a fitting tribute to those who died trying to liberate Europe from Nazism and Fascism. Extremely well-done and a great movie. Makes me tear eyed when the army car comes by to notify Ryan's family of their sons' death. The acting is great and the visual effects are very well-done. Moreover, the Robert Kapa's style of photography is amazing. Spielberg might be a typical liberal Hollywood star but his movies are fantastic. He's got better yr by yr. I think this is thus far the best WW 2 movie of the recent yrs. loved it!

VHS : The Iron Giant
Perhaps in part due to the fact that the film bombed at the box office, The Iron Giant has developed quite a cult around it in recent years. Some of the enthusiasm is justified--the animation is quite impressive and the story appealing--but the movie does not work as well as its defenders would have one believe.

The biggest problem with The Iron Giant lies with the fact that the entire movie feels like a less-witty animated remake of E.T. Think about it--lonely boy from a fatherless home stumbles upon a sweet and gentle creature from another world and bonds with the strange being, ultimately facing off against government agents who want the creature for their own purposes. While obviously some details differ, the movie has the feel of something we've seen before. Additionally, though set ... Read More

VHS : The Fast and the Furious
This movie is sweet. Do not expect this movie to be a cinematic classic, it is fun, just because that is what it was made for. Entertaining and the extra features on the HD disc are cool too. It has nice rides and excellent racing scenes. Aside from most movie crticism, it is fun to watch with friends.

4.Boiler Room starring: Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, Nia Long, Nicky Katt, Scott Caan

VHS : Boiler Room
Right off - this is one of Giovanni Ribisi's best performances. It's compelling but we never really feel the heat of the Boiler Room. The Danger. The Action. Ben Affleck is extremely good but brief in this - one of his forgotten performances. Everything else about the movie has been said here. More sex, scandal and intrigue would've elevated this way above. EXTRAS: The "original ending" is actually a lot more artful and smarter than the one we get in the final cut. Overall, worth comparing to Wall Street? No. Worth watching? Yes.

VHS : The Chronicles of Riddick (Unrated Edition)
This is the sequel to Pitch Black and wow, was it good.

My husband and I watched it together and we were both thoroughly entertained by the effects, the characters, and the storyline. Although there were some parts that I thought were just plain silly like (SPOILER) Riddick and Jack trying to prove who was the better killer (END SPOILER SECTION), overall it was a good movie. Not a deep, oscar-worthy movie, but good enough to watch and recommend to others.

An absolute delight but could have been better. This Film was a delight for all ages and all audiences but there could have been better scenes and the movie itself could have been a little more practical. otherwise i recommend it for everyone and say that its very clean with a little bit of everything. The movie starts out with a tough mean looking navy seal whose assignment is to 'babysit' some children. he must do this because the father holds very important information and he has been kidnapped. the mother must go away for a few days and so Mr. Shane Wolfe (vin Diesel) is stuck with a babysitting job. and of course after a few days Shane gets used to handling the teens and diapers and toddlers in the household.... This is a fun filled adventure good for the whole family!
