VHS : Sleeping Beauty (Disney)
For some reason, and I can't quite put my finger on it, but I'm really not into Sleeping Beauty. I adore Disney movies and have seen pretty much every one, with the exception of a couple. This does not rank high on my list. The story never really interested me, the music was just OK. It came as a bit old fashioned for me.
That said, It's certainly not a bad movie by any means, just not as enjoyable as some of the other brilliant ones out there.

VHS : Cinderella (Disney)
This is a classic that every girl, teenage girl {if they admit it} or young woman will love. Some of the older women love to watch a sweet love story too from time to time.

Cinderella is an ageless love of a animated movie that will live in our hearts and DVD library's for our eternity.

Great gift too~

VHS : Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland is renowned for it's odd and satirical nature, while still appealing to kids who are highly entertained by the disappearing Cheshire cat, the wackiness of the Mad Hatter, and the wrath of the Queen of Hearts. The songs are cute and Disney-esque, and Alice's adventures inspire all of the many imaginative people out in the world.

VHS : Lady and the Tramp
Walt Disney's "Lady And The Tramp" was never one of my personal favorite films as a child. I'm all grown up now, and it has become a very enjoyable treat for me and my entire family. For those unfamiliar with the story, here's a brief explanation: Cocker Spaniel Lady has a perfect life until a baby shows up. She begins to feel neglected and when her owners take a little vacation and leave her and the baby with Aunt Sarah, she winds up on the mean streets alone....until Tramp shows up. He defends her, has a romantic dinner with her and eventually finds his way into her heart. It's all executed with Disney's classic perfection and littered with wonderful songs like "Bella Notte" and "We Are Siamese."

What really makes this film worth five stars is the treatment it receives ... Read More

Red Skelton is, without a doubt, one of the greatest entertainers of the last century. His simple, charming, often self-effacing humor is something you could show to a young child and not be worried about corrupting influences. His comedy was always clean and fun. That's in short supply these days.
Unfortunately, this is on VHS, so the market supply is limited. I hope they put all of his movies on DVD soon. A comic genius like Red Skelton needs to be introduced to a new generation.

VHS : Picnic (Widescreen)
Having seen Picnic on television years ago and then having it disappear not to be shown again I wanted to find a copy of it. I was happy to see that it had been reissued! Even though the film is not in widescreen format(a big disappointment)it is a trip through some very simple and nostalgic times. Loaded with wonderful character acters and soon to be big stars it almost makes you want to relive the 50's. I could relate to many of the characters as being people that I had grown up around. Verna Felton was wonderful, but then so was William Holden and Rosalind Russell. If you want to escape from our complicated world and have a few hours of nostalgia I highly recommend Picnic.

9.Northwest Passage starring: Spencer Tracy, Robert Young, Walter Brennan, Ruth Hussey, Nat Pendleton

VHS : Northwest Passage
This film is still not on dvd, and it should be. This movie is really a guilty preasure, in that, it is all the things a movie should not be. Historically inacurrate, and all Hollywood from the get go. But, that was the way it was until audiances became too sufficiated for bad directing. Despite all that, I love this movie, because of those reasons. The truth would only paint Tracys character much differently, and we might end up hating the hero more then the indians. There are many lines in this film that are memorable. My favorite is when Tracy says "If she gives you any trouble, stick her in the rump with a bannoet." My second favorite line was so laughable I still laugh as I'm about to write it. After the indian maccacre is over Tracy is trying on the local foot wear and in an angry fit ... Read More
