As mentioned in another post I was reading, this particular story is released on DVD now. I just found it today.
It is part of a 10 holiday favorites Classic Christmas Favorites.
I cannot wait to see it! Now, I am patiently waiting on the rest to be released on DVD. :)

VHS : Exit to Eden
What were they thinking? Perhaps director Garry Marshall thought he could do for S&M what he'd done for the women of the evening in Pretty Woman. Wrap up an edgy topic in a big cute bow, and through humor make it palatable, even entertaining, to the masses. But you thought wrong Mr. Marshall. Actually, it is a surprisingly entertaining movie, it is just that most of the humor is unintentional. You can't believe the movie got green lighted when it was so obviously doomed to be a disaster.

They took a novel by Anne Rice, written under the pseudonym of Anne Rampling (a name she chose as a tribute to actress Charlotte Rampling) and then they grafted on a totally gratuitous story about international jewell thieves and the cops (played by Dan Akroyd and Rosie O'Donnell??? and no, I am ... Pretty good, as far as having almost as much Kenpo techniques in it as "The Perfect Weapon" did & having a positive message at the end. Don't look for oscar-winning dialogue or storylines here either, just lots of action & (thankfully) not too many love scenes.

VHS : Doctor Who - Kinda
Recently having watched this episode for the first time in almost nine years, I was blown away with how well it held up. (The rotten dream sequence towards the end doesn't count, considering the low budget for this show, and can be forgiven.) An Imperialist humanoid race (remarkably similar to the pre-WWI British) is ruthlessly assessing a paradisal world for colonization. The Doctor arrives just in time to prevent a malevolent, non-physical entity called the Mara from exploiting the sure-to-end-deadly conflict between the Kinda (natives) and colonial team, which has become taken over by an insane junior officer bent on total destruction. The Mara's need to feed on the misery of living beings cast an edgy, dangerous shadow on events. I darkly enjoyed the scene where Tegan's reality is denied by a vaguely ... Read More

VHS : Doctor Who - Colony in Space
The Colony is Space is definitely a classic John Pertwee Dr. Who. If you are a big fan
of John Pertwee, this is a must for your collection. I thought the video was okay. If you
are a huge Dr. Who fan I would recommend buying this. If you are not a Dr. Who fan and
are just getting started out, I would not recommend this video. The plot in general was fairly
solid, but too many things going on to concentrate on the plot. The Master arrives, but is a very
weak bad guy character that could have been left out. The video did not drag on like some of the
longer episode ones. The sound quality was fair and archive quality, so I had to adjust the
volume several times while watching. I believe this was a lost episode that was restored from
some old video tapes from PBS. I had never seen ... Read More

VHS : Doctor Who - Planet of the Spiders
This is not one of the best Dr Who stories in my opinion. I bought this on VHS because I wanted to have something of DR Who and something of Jon Pertwee. This is Jon Pertwee's last appearance as Dr Who until the Five Doctors. He gets replaced by Tom Baker who plays the fourth doctor, although in my opinion not as good as Jon Pertwee who is the best.
I didn't find the story that interesting about the spiders as I don't like insects of any kind and the fact that they can talk is ridiculous. When the Doctor and Sarah got to Metebelis III it looked suspiciously fake to me as the landscape looked like giant posters with black spots on them.
This story goes for two and a half hours and it is drawn out. Not a very good ending for Jon Pertwee but suppose if you're desperate to watch some DR Who and Pertwee, then you could probably ... Read More

VHS : Doctor Who - Silver Nemesis
I'd only seen bits of "Nemesis" on PBS nearly 20 years ago, and resolved to see it. Unfortunately, the story never becomes more than bits of a better "Who" story, with hints of "Earthshock", the last great Cybermen story. At only 3 episodes, the story has little room to move its characters around, leading to the paradoxical result of a Who story that's too long and too short all at the same time. The Cybermen are the stars of the show - the Nazis are like afterthoughts easily dispatched by the steel-men, and convenient cut-outs who keep the more interesting characters from confronting each other. (The Nazis seem to know enough about Nemesis, but are completely baffled by Cybermen who are impervious to their submachine guns and their Wagnerian flattery.) Unfortunately, the story isn't one worth headlining - and they spend more time just stalking ... Read More

VHS : Doctor Who - The Web Planet
There are many reasons I enjoyed The Web Planet. I like the First Doctor. I like stories that focus on aliens. I like aliens who don't look too human. I like insects. Also, at least I think so, the more complex the story the better. In this story we have at least three threads that we get to follow by the time we reach the closing episode. The idea is a planet has become invaded by an alien force, so powerful, so strong, that even the TARDIS has been dragged off course, forced to land onto the planet. There is a war between the moth-like Menoptra and the giant ant-like Zarbi.
There are also tons of extras, including a short story from the very first Doctor Who Annual read by William Russell, a Doctor Who film-strip show, and a cool making of feature. Great stuff that really gets me into that sci-fi fan mood. Get the pop corn and turn down the lights.
