This is one of the most unforgetable films I have ever watched and I love classic films. I first saw this about 20 years ago and have been searching to purchase it ever since. Unfortunatly I thought the mother was played by Ingrid Bergman which is why it took so long to find it. Hope to have a copy soon. This is a must for anyone who enjoys the classics.

It's clear from the beginning of this film that the star of Night and Day is the music of the man himself...Cole Porter. The song and dance sequences are beautifully done (the tap dancing number in particular was fantastic) and I even took pleasure in the story. Of course, since this film has been made, we now know much more about Cole Porter than is revealed in this film such as his being homosexual. However, I find that Night and Day better honors Porter and his love of his music first and foremost. It is a delightful and entertaining movie that truly sings Cole Porter's praises.

if you are a dedicated musician and had the rare opportunity to make it your life's work( which is near nil in today's world), then you will love this movie.It's the fight between the marriage of woman or music.music will always win because there is no separation of the man and his music, they are one and the same.

Very good movie. No bad words...no sexual situations (totally opposite of most of the movies being produced today), just a very good clean movie that makes you think about your life and your struggles and prompts you to consider that there is indeed a God who is watching over you.. I highly recommended it. I just want it on DVD!
