VHS : Heist (1988)
I remembered seeing The Heist as an HBO flik years ago & enjoying it then. It's not Casablanca, but it is still a fun & entertaining movie. Brosnan & Skerritt play wonderfully off each other & the action moves quickly. I would recommend it if you're looking for a fun flik with double crossing ex-partners!

VHS : Bob Roberts
"Bob Roberts" is a mockumentary about the senatorial campaign of a rich folk singer with a set of right-wing beliefs. Written, directed and starring Tim Robbins, who is well known for his left-wing views, this film cleverly satirizes right-wing politics and politicians (and the music of Bob Dylan). I suspect that how people react to this film will largely depend on their own personal beliefs. My beliefs lie somewhere between those of Robbins and his alter ego. I think that few people would have beliefs as far right as those of Bob Roberts, myself included, which makes it possible to laugh at Roberts' views, but at the same time I don't entirely agree with all of the things said by the left wing characters in this film, such as Roberts's senatorial rival (played by Gore Vidal), which are presumably ... And there was no such thing as CGI!!!.

VHS : Dangerous Break
Okay, this 1976 movie--"Dangerous Break" aka "Special Delivery"--is certainly no masterpiece, but it's really entertaining anyway.

First and foremost, the acting is uniformly terrific. You've got the wonderful Cybill Shepherd in a role that couldn't be more up her alley, and she works it to the hilt, supplying the movie with her trademark charm and sly humor. As for Bo Svenson, I've seen this guy get ridiculed mercilessly in regard to his acting ability; he does a great job here though, delivering a convincing and, for the most part, slyly laidback performance.

Svenson plays Jack Murdock, one of four guys who were all Marines in the Vietnam War together. After the war, with several of them having suffered drastic injuries, as well as having trouble on the job front, they decide to ... Read More

While the movie wasn't nearly as good as the book, it was an excellent teaching tool for my fifth graders. Many are reluctant readers. After reading the book and viewing the movie, the book won hands down. Mission accomplished. Although the movie was somewhat of a disappointment, the service I received was excellent. If I need to purchase movies or materials for my classroom in the future, amazon.com will be one of my first stops.

VHS : Dead Man Out
I found the story, acting, directing, and sets boring and dark. There wasn't a bright spot in it. I couldn't sympathize with the prisoner, who remained unrepentant for his crimes till the end, nor with the psychiatrist, who lacked the enthusiasm, compassion, and creativeness that the part required. And the movie's ending made no sense--since the prisoner got what he was going to get anyway. And the ambiance--we never see anything else but the cells, hallways, and a few offices. Consequently, I never cared about what the outcome would be.

8.The Fog starring: Tom Atkins, Adrienne Barbeau, James Canning, Jamie Lee Curtis, Charles Cyphers

VHS : The Fog
THE FOG is an awesome horror flick that scared me when I saw it for the first time when I was only 8 years old practically making me afraid of the fog in general, since you cant see through the fog very well in real life, except in John Carpenter's masterpiece of THE FOG was almost like an upgrade of Carpenters 1978 flick HALLOWEEN, since the Michael Myers character seemed to have inspired Carpenter to make this movie(THE FOG).

In addition to that, I've noticed that THE FOG had some co-stars from HALLOWEEN like Jamie-Lee Curtis, Charles Cyphers, and Nancy Loomis.

Therefore, it seemed like THE FOG had just about every co-star that was in HALLOWEEN, except for Donald Pleasance and PJ Soles.

THE FOG also had co-stars from Carpenter's 1981 flick ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK too like Tom ... Read More

VHS : Striking Distance
This movie is pretty typical in many ways but Bruce Willis delivers an outstanding performance in just about every single movie he is in and this is another in a long line.

Former big city cop banished to being just a river rat there is more at stake than finding his fathers killer when women from his past keep winding up dead in the river for him to find.

Sarah Jessica Parker also delivers an excellent performance that was very surprising.

This is a must own for Bruce Willis fans and fans of the 80's/90's thriller/action movies.

VHS : Blind Justice
This harrowing but well-done film, purportedly based upon actual incidents, relates in nicely detailed fashion how the criminal justice system can fail in its avowed purpose of bringing only the guilty to heel. Jim Anderson (Tim Matheson), a happily married free-lance photographer preparing for his first gallery showing, relieves himself behind a park building in the course of taking his morning run, is spotted and arrested by a policeman for indecent exposure and, during the booking procedure for his malfeasance, is seated directly beneath a composite drawing of a felony suspect with his general appearance, a coincidence not long unnoticed by the police, who then rearrest him for robbery, and his good life ends. He is "identified" by the several victims of the actual criminal's spree, is charged within several jurisdictions ... Read More
