VHS : Brain Smasher - A Love Story
I wish this movie was on DVD! I don't own a VHS player and have been dying to see this again. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was about 12 years old. It was such a fun, comical, entertaining little cheese-fest. I loved it! I hope it gets released sometime on dvd or bluray for those of us who have ditched vhs!!!

VHS : Carny
Gary Busey and Robbie Robertson hit the nail square on the head in their performance of Carny. Toss in Jodie Foster and you have a real tilt-a-whirl of a ride through the scenes in this movie. I rated it 4 stars and would give it 5 if it was on DVD. I worked several years in a stick joint pulling in quarters with one of the smaller shows. There is a lot of facts based on the carnival life and I was glad to have played a part. You don't see much of the mobster type which was big business several years ago. What you do get is a peek into a life that everyone would like a taste of. This movie is very real for the times it was defining. I've met the real person that the Bozo who Gary played after and he was a total riot. Gary Busey plays him to perfection. You always have to have a straight man and ... Read More

VHS : Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn
"Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn" is one of the longest sci-fi movie titles ever... and it doesn't even describe the movie! "Metalstorm" was a popular video game back in the '80s,but this isn't based on it. And **SPOILER ALERT** Jared-Syn isn't destroyed.

"Metalstorm" is a Road Warrior knock-off,with Michael Preston (of no relation to Kelly) as the villainous Jared-Syn. He has stirred the Arabic-like Nomads against human settlers in a holy war, with his one-armed son Baal leading the charge. In one of their raids, they kill Kelly Preston's father with a hallucination. A seeker/ranger Dogen (named for the Japanese Buddhist teacher warrior poet) rescues Kelly, and goes on the quest to destroy Jared-Syn. On the way,he fights a sand snake, goes to an altar and finds a glass mask (that ... Read More

VHS : St. Helens
Take my word for it, I have not found any other movie whose content deals with the eruption of Mt St Helens except this one and thank god the late Art Carney was in this or it probably would have only gotten 3 stars from me just for the build up to the eruption alone but his comedic jabs at the right moments made it all the more enjoyable to watch. It's another one of those pictures thats based upon fact but no doubt has some fiction interwoven into it in some spots, it's not the best volcano movie I have seen but it is by far NOT THE WORST...I gave it 5 stars because I truly liked all 90 minutes of this movie.

A scientist (david Huffman) is called to the mountain after a series of earthquakes rock the region and after several readings and experiments determines that the mountain is going ... Read More

Lisen!!! don't even watch this [stuff]!
Because:
1- Is very short (Less than one hour).
2- Jude's death was VERY STUPID.
3- The voice of OPPSY DAISY was changed and it was very bad acted.
4- The story was extremly cheap than the first one.

P.S: Just don't watch it!!!!!!!!

I saw this movie about 8 or 10 years ago and I thought it was absolutely hilarious! I found it on DVD and for a great price!

The only reason I can think that it bombed in the box office is because no one wanted to see Sly in a comedy; it was all about 'Rocky' and 'Rambo'. And what the heck is he doing making a film with Dolly Parton, right? Well, I would recommend this movie to anyone who has a sense of humor. Yes, it's an 80's flick, but still, it is full of hilarity!

VHS : Iron Eagle
It seems everyone reviewing Iron Eagle has seen and loves it. What I know is, it reminds me of simpler times. Cliched? Probably. I remember watching this with my sister as a kid. I love the whole thing and hopefully is as available in the future as it is now. The comparisons to Top Gun are unavoidable, like comparing the Stones to the Beatles. But, as it is with music comparisons, you can't look at Iron Eagle as a Top Gun rip off, it is in my opinion more entertaining and way better in it's own right. The final raid scene is complimemted by the awesome track by Dio "Hide in the Rainbow", when Doug rescues his dad at the end of a fire engulfed runway you just jump up and cheer. What a great moment! Im sure there are technical short comings as far as communications go but so what?Do you like a good old fashioned calvery ... Read More

VHS : Die Watching
This thriller by director Charles Davis is notable more for what it doesn't show, rather than for what it does. There is often a cinematic sadism in the demonstration of the work of a serial killer, which blurs the line between drama and exploitation, in a similar way that cinematic sexual activity can be viewed as integral or gratuitous. One could accuse Davis of sexual exploitation of the women victims of the serial killer here, since he films them performing a striptease and it appears to be the sight of their exposed breasts that sets off the homicide, but the actual killings are not graphic. This may ironically frustrate those who yearn to see thrillers with violent acts, but it says something positive, in my view at least, about Davis skill as a filmmaker. The plot uses the idea of Peeping Tom where the killer wants his ... Read More
