This is a decent film that deserves to be re-issued on DVD. While not a big budget opus like infamous Mel Gibson's THE PATRIOT, this is a much higher quality film overall. While a bit slow in the beginning with family relationships in Lexington, the film picks up when the British at last appear on the screen! There is a nice shot of the British columm deploying impressively into line to face Captain Parker's company. The only problem here is that the British force at this point consisited of six companies of Light Infantry who jogged into town at a fast clip before forming line opposite the militia. This would have been less impressive to show, plus i guess the available re-enactors could not all be shown in Light Infantry garb. So we get the usual mix of line companies, Grenadiers and ... I saw this ages ago when it was on PBS, and luckily my mom taped it for me. I kept the tape, but eventually it wore out, so I bought a copy. It's a lovely tale, and I wish the actors had kept acting! A very talented cast. A young man needs to earn money for his family during the Depression, so he decides to work as a camp counselor (of course, he has to fib and tell them that he's experience; but he doesn't even know how to swim!). His mother makes him take his kid-brother along, and adventures ensue! A lovely family movie. Five stars!

I think this video was incredible. There is great writing and is great for an older child who has a new baby coming into their home. I think that if you are looking for something for a child in this situation, this video would be a great tip. Horace will win the love of you and your child's heart. I believe that this could influence your child in so many positive way. It is the sausage of life.

I took this video out of my local library, not expecting much. I took a peek at it while the kids were watching, and was pleasantly surprised. It is very well done, with good animation, a clever story line, and a good message.
