Duke(Fred Williamson) rolls into Bucktown, MO, for his brother's funeral. After being left his brother's bar in his will, Duke decides to reopen it, but soon finds out that the town is "run by honkies". This means that the racist police force is running a kind of protection racket, getting money from store owners and such. Well, we all know damn well that Fred "The Hammer" Williamson is not the kind of guy who pays protection money. After smacking around some of the corrupt cops(and in the process getting Pam Grier all turned on), a war is started. Duke calls in an old friend, Roy, to help him out. Roy brings along a handful of goons that include Tony King(from Cannibal Apocalypse!! Yay!!) and Carl Weathers himself. The group manage to slaughter every last cop in town and somehow get ... James Coburn plays a violent mixed race outlaw who escapes from Yuma prison as part of a chain gang along with a group of other equally thuggish types .He persuades them to join him by recounting tales of a hidden cache of gold that will make them all rich men ;his primary motive is to use tham to help him gain revenge on his nemesis ,a retired lawman (Charlton Heston)responsible for his incarceration..He lures Heston away from town by feinting to rob a gold shipment being conveyed by train and while the lawman is engaged on this wild goose chase rides into town at the head of his gang and abductes Heston's daughter (Barbara Hershey). There follows a sadistic ,violent denouement involving rape and a great deal of rather gloating violence
This is well acted by the stars and supporting cast ... Read More

But in the meantime can ONLY be found on a Out Of Print (And expensive) VHS (Video Tape). Like the Movie "Sparkle" there was NEVER a Soundtrack Album released???? BOTH would be nice (Even in CD Format). A First Class Movie that is well deserving of being released on DVD Format. Strange there wasn't even a sequel....It's still not too late to gather these great actors to do a 2007/2008 sequel.....Something SOMEONE should think about. This is worth hunting down...Just make sure you save your $$$$ because the one's (VHS Videos) that's floating around are NOT cheap (Even in used condition).

It was only a matter of time, wasn't it? There were many Blaxploitation flicks being made at this time, most of them by AIP, and it was inevitable that the genre would cross paths with the horror genre. After all, AIP had most of it's success in the B horror films it produced.
I'm not sure there's a single human being that can utter the title of this movie and not chuckle. It's almost genius in it's childishness. Oddly enough, the film isn't camp nor is it at all played for laughs. This was definitely an attempt to make a true horror film. Granted it's looked at by today's audiences as unintentionally funny, but that's only really due to the fashions, music and lingo of the time period.
In the film, African Prince Manuwalde is bitten by Count Dracula in the late 1700s and put under the ... Read More

Coming up in the 70's myself, it really hit home for me. I came up in Third Ward, one of the urban areas of Houston, Texas. And let me tell you that Mr. Roscoe Orman, is a actor before his time. He should do a sequel, but not as the pimp but as what Mr. Orman, is doing now. He is educating our children. If he has been in any other movies let me know. [...]

VHS : For Us, The Living - The Story of Medgar Evers
For Us the Living, a movie that recently sneaked onto video after airing on national T.V. The story of Medgar Evers, a civil rights leader from the early to mid sixties who was murdered by the Klu Klux Klan. This movie tells us first hand how Medgar, took on racist politicians and came home to be a loving husband. Played beautifully by Holling Rollins, and the gifted Irene Cara. It is on my shelf right there by Malcolm X.

One of the most borring films I have yet to see. Just pointless!
Poor script, poor acting and most all empty plot.

10.The Package starring: Gene Hackman, Joanna Cassidy, Tommy Lee Jones, John Heard, Dennis Franz

VHS : The Package
Why did it seem like Tommy Lee Jones was doing his 'Strannix thing" from "Under Siege" in this movie? The plot winds into predictable end that makes you say "Where have I seen this before?" The movie seemed like a ripoff of so many other political/assassination-type flicks I've seen before. Not many surprises (if any) in this movie.
