I wish this movie was on DVD! I don't own a VHS player and have been dying to see this again. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was about 12 years old. It was such a fun, comical, entertaining little cheese-fest. I loved it! I hope it gets released sometime on dvd or bluray for those of us who have ditched vhs!!!

VHS : Tomorrow Never Dies
The final half hour is an overwrought shoot out aboard a stealth craft that is too long by 25 minutes. Nothing happens except a lot of fake bullets fly endlessly. Otherwise, the plot, thinly disguised as a spoof on Rupert Murdoch, involves the usual megalomaniac -in this case, a media mogul - bent on creating world havoc for his own gain. Brosnan is cool in the early going, and the opener, involving an arms bazaar and a nuclear bomb carrying jet fighter is great, as usual with Bond films. The story line overall is just so-so. The title track by Sheryl Crowe is one of the better Bonds.

I'm guessing this film would have been one heck of a lot better had there been a bigger budget for it. It comes off as a project made with limited resources and time, but one that also conveys a sense of passion on the parts of the director and producers. I saw this film the first time years ago after playing a football game in which Erik Anjou took part. My colleagues (a bunch of Army officers drinking beer on Sunday morning at West Point) had no idea who this guy Erik was, but our boss, his host, passed around a copy of this movie on VHS after the game telling us our guest beer-drinking footballer had directed it. The general impression was that Erik, a genuinely nice guy by the way, had been lucky to have cast Teri Hatcher before her fame. The movie is really raw in most respects except for Ms. Hatcher's ... Okay, these sets suck. Come on, this is James friggin' Bond here!!! We can do better than this. Here's my idea of how to handle the Bond box sets, and with any luck in 2010 they'll this to me. As much as I'd love to see one huge box set, that just wouldn't work. First of all it would be simply too big and too expensive, and second of all with new Bond movies every few years it would be out of date rather quickly. So do them by decades. Dig it - the Bond collection volume 1: The 60's. You could do all the movies released after 62's Dr. No but before 1970, and still have room for a really cool bonus disc. Granted, some volumes would be heftier than others (the 90's would be a bit slim), but with no end in sight for the Bond franchise this seems the best way too go. Plus, if you're like me, your a completist. ... Read More

It's no Lethal Weapon; I bought this cause I thought it was cool when I was a kid, not so cool as an adult when you can understand all the dialogue, in fact, you can probably say it sucks(a technical movie review term). But if you are into the whole 80's action movie genre then this would suit your tastes.

7.Spy Kids (P&S) starring: Alexa Vega, Daryl Sabara, Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Alan Cumming

I must admit i didnt think i would like this HOW WRONG WAS I ,this is such a good movie i would suggest that anyone who hasnt seen it do so NOW.
The story concerns the two children of former secret agents who are now living a normal life when their parents are kidnapped the kids are told by the 'Uncle'that they have to save them
cue 90 minutes of great comedy effects driven filmmaking from Robert Rodriguez a veritable 1 man band-he wrote and directed the movie edited and produced and even wrote some of the music ,the two juvenile leads are great and so is Alan Cumming as the bad guy who turns goos there are also great turns from Robert Patrick and Teri Hatcher and the action whizzes by and it really is one of those movies you wish were 20 minutes longer.

Comedy is a dicey business. For some, it isn't funny unless it's current and political. To others it's all about how people get along together. Luckily, this movie gives everyone a chance to laugh. While this is a romantic comedy, with all of the usual "boy meets/rejects/gets rejected by/reunites with girl" plots, it is also a timeless look at the business of television, soap operas in particular. The only indication that this movie might not be current is the over-the-top 80s wardrobe.

Also, the cast certainly contributes to the experience. Just watching Robert Downey Jr., Sally Field, Carrie Fisher, Kevin Kline, Elizabeth Shue, Terry Hatcher, Whoopie Goldberg, Garry Marshall and Cathy Moriarty tear up the scenery is a complete treat.

You won't regret owning this one.

Excellent adaptation from the superb novel by James Lee Burke. The novel is the second one published (1988) about main character Dave Robicheux. Alec Baldwin as Dave positively nails the complex, achingly human character. If you saw the movie but never read the book, treat yourself by reading the book now, and then watch the movie again. Without exception, all actors cast in the movie accurately reflect their respective characters in the book. I'd love to see a movie version of "Tin Roof Blowdown," published in 2007.
