Why is there no Region 1 DVD release of Sleeping Beauty available? All of the other Cannon Movietales (except this and the Frog Prince)are available. I think it is unfair that the two best ones are not available. Please release this and the Frog Prince on region 1 DVD. Pretty please!!!

This movie is 60's classic. I notice the last post on this forum was in 2000! Here it is 2008 and still no DVD! I agree with the majority of reviewers that the junk that is out on DVD is just that...junk. We don't want these classics to be forgotten. Copy it to DVD before the next iteration of technology emerges.

VHS : Farewell My Lovely
Robert Mitchum, Sylvia Miles, Charlotte Rampling, Harry Dean Stanton, Jack O'Halloran, John Ireland and Sylvester Stallone, among others - what a lineup. Of the entire genre of film noir, tough guy detective films, this one is by far the best. Mitchum is at his all time best, even though he's nearly sixty in this film (a bit old to play Marlowe, in my opinion, but he carries it off with absolute aplomb). He is the quintessential tough guy gumshoe Marlowe (he floors Dick Powell's previous characterization of the role), Sylvia Miles and Charlotte Rampling turn in flawless performances, and in fact Sylvia Miles received a well-deserved Oscar nod for hers. John Ireland and Harry Dean Stanton also gave marquee performances as well. Even young Sylvester Stallone is a surprise. But another one that ... Read More

I heard Peter Fonda say that even though his father Henry Fonda didn't like Dennis Hopper that after he read 'The Last Movie' he said, "this is one of the great westerns of our time." Well, Hank may have been right about what was on the page but what ended up on film was a cluttered mess. I am a fan of Dennis Hopper somewhat but no matter how you slice it or how much his Hollywood friends try to dress it up this movie stunk. I bought it back in the early 90's and watched it. I gave it to a friend to watch and he never gave it back and I didn't care one bit. El stinkerOO!!!

Probably the best of all the Hercule Poirot screen adaptations, and that's saying something because Suchet is really, really good.

I don't know what's wrong with the "official" reviewer. There is nothing "lazy" about this screenplay. The electric verbal sparring between Daphne Castle (Maggie Smith) and Arlena Marshall (Diana Rigg) can attest to that, as can the venomous wit of the Gardners towards the outlandish Rex, and the cutting and feisty attitude of Linda Marshal, who manages to be sympathetic despite a semi-serious attempt to get an innocent man hanged. The pace is somewhat slow, but the same could be said about several great movies. The director decided to play up the gorgeous Cole Porter soundtrack and beautiful island setting, and far be it from me to begrudge him this very understandable artistic ... Read More

Joe Buck is a guy who has a little too much confidence in his sexual prowess. He decided in his optimism to make a run to New York to become a hustler for rich women. He's in for a surprise as the only people into his cowboy schtick is the homosexual underground. He quickly becomes a victim to a seedy man by the name of Rico. and in a circumstantial set of events run into each other and becomes roommates.

In and of themselves, the actions of these two towards everyone they meet is despicable, but fits well with how the people treat each other in general in the city. Joe gets a rude awakening when he sees a man passed out in the middle of the sidewalk and no one interested in helping the man out. Joe and Rico steal money, addresses, try to take advantage of the lonely, but as their relationship ... Read More

This is a smart, funny, creative and original film. This is a fresh comedy about 6 young New Yorkers who "live" on the phone. These phone-a-holics fall in love, break up, psychoanalyze each other, give birth and even die without getting off the phone. With an enjoyable score and very well written, this film is fun, marvelous and sophisticated. Released in 1995 it stars Caroleen Feeney, Tim Daly, Dana Wheeler Nicholson, Aida Turturro, Liev Schreiber, Alanna Ubach and Dan Gunther.
