VHS : The Firm: Total Body - Body Sculpting Basics
This is the first firm video I bought and used, it is my favorite.
It is a bout 62 minutes so you need to prepare for that, however when I am short on time you can do the first 30 minutes or skip parts, it is made in sections so its easy to do.
When I first did this workout the only other previous training I had was slim-n-six. Going from the hardest video in the slim-n-six to the firm was easy and some of the moves were the same. With the firm though I was really tired by the end of the running in place bit (10-15 min. into it) and couldn't finish most of the moves. It worked me out harder than I expected, especially since I could completely finish the hardest one in slim-n-six! It wasn't so hard though that I felt I would never be able to do it, with in 2-3 weeks I could ... Read More

Tracie Long is a great instructor, always demonstrating proper form, and is easy to follow. I use the "Firm Basics" series along with Leslie Sansone to get started exercising again after being inactive for a while. This tape is for beginners, and those who find the new "Firm" workouts beyond their capabilties. A great start to better fitnes.
This series is not produced on DVD. It would be great if it was.

I really liked this workout and I'm glad I added it to my collection. It's a fun, efficient cardio workout. After finishing this workout, especially the next day, I could feel it. I really liked all 3 instructors so that was a plus. Allie, Lisa and Nancy were great and the cuing was perfect. This video is great for beginning or advanced exercisers. I am an intermediate exerciser and if I feel the moves are getting too easy I simply add heavier weights for a challenge. The FIRM is unlike any other workout series. You will definitely reach your fitness goals with consistency and a little dicipline. You can not go wrong with a firm video. The thing I really liked about this video is usually when the firm says one of their videos is a "cardio workout" it still usually has a lot of slow & heavy work, but ... Read More

I remember being interested in ads for this movie when it was first released in theaters, but did not end up seeing it until years later. I recently rediscovered the movie in a box of old tapes. Unable to remember much about it, I watched it twice more. This made me appreciate the film more, but also reminded me of its flaws and limitations.

A sleazy, tacky, womanizing dentist (Joe Mantegna) serving an upscale New York suburb is murdered in his office one night. A new patient (Susan Sarandon) is drawn into an amateur investigation of the case, rekindling her own spirits and interests. She is the unassuming, dowdy housewife of an egotistical, stressed-out, button-down corporate law firm attorney (Edward Herrmann). Years ago, she was a reporter.

Many in her circle of female friends and neighbors ... Read More

What a bunch of pompous a*****. Get over yourselves and enjoy the movie. It was never meant to be a cinema classic. It's just good adult fun. I liked it in both formats. Aaah to be 22 again!

VHS : Firm Total Body: Better Body & Buns
This workout emphasizes on reshaping your lower body with a variety of exercises, but there is some upper body and ab work as well. You will need a tall box, assorted dumbells and a dowel or broom handle is used for the stretch. Three instructors lead you through this workout, Jennifer Carmen, Taber Bruner and Jennifer Peluso. This workout is part of the Firms Tri-Trainer series, which includes Maximum Body Shaping and Fat Blaster.

After a brief warmup and stretch, you start out with ab work which is not common in videos. Jennifer P leads you through a nice ab routine, some of it including pilates inspired "breath work". Then you will move into lower body exercises. Jennifer C. takes you through a set of squats, some of them hover squats where you hold at the bottom. They use the tall box and a 2 x 4 to elevate ... VHS : The Wild, Wild West Revisited
"The Night of the Inferno," the pilot episode of "The Wild Wild West," establishes the formula for the television series created by Michael Garrison about the James Bond of the Old West that ran on CBS from September 17, 1965 until September 7, 1970. But while the formula is tried and true, adapting the super spy formula of exotic villains and grandiose plans to rule a significant portion of the American West, the tone of the series is not yet to be established. This is clear as soon as we meet our heroes "James" West (Robert Conrad) and "Artemus" Gordon (Ross Martin).

The pilot starts off with a great hook as condemned prisoner James T. West is dragged to a railroad train in the middle of the night--where he finds President Ulysses S. Grant (James Gregory), who is providing cover for his top undercover agent. Given ... Read More

I loved this movie when it first came out, back in my own post-punk college days. I recently watched it again, after not having seen it for many years, and I'm pleased that it has actually aged quite well. It's still really, really funny. The soundtrack is still excellent. The social commentary still works. The performances are still hysterical. The special effects are still bad. Seriously, it's a classic.
