This 5 star review is for Perry King only. He plays the nice slave owner in the film, a slave owner with a heart. Anyways I'm a huge fan of Perry ever since i saw him in Melrose Place & Switch. Of course all his films are not available since he starting acting in the 70's and i wanted to see his earlier works. I was shocked but the UNCUT version of the film was actually available on iTunes so i rented it. It's coming out on DVD this June 2008. I really didn't care for the film nor did i find it racy the way ever other review has it on here. Definitely check this out for a young Perry. It such a shame he isn't in more films. He has charisma and the X-FACTOR all the way. It truly isn't as racy as everyone says it is. It could have been much more racy but this is the 70's.

VHS : Lifeguard
Filmed in 1975, "Lifeguard" relays the story of an aging L.A. lifeguard (Sam Elliott) during the summer of '75. He suffers an early mid-life crisis when his friends and family continually reveal their disappoval of his career choice. This is heightened when he attends his 15-year high school reunion where he reunites with a recently-divorced ex-flame (Anne Archer). To complicate matters Elliot runs into a cute underage teen on the beach (Kathleen Quinlin) who makes him feel like an Adonis.

I remember cathing "Lifeguard" on tv sometime in the '90s and all I can remember is what a great film it was. I never heard of it before but the story took me right in and captivated me throughout. This is truly a secret gem from the 70s.

What makes it work so well? For one thing ... Read More

VHS : Skin Game
In the mid-70's James Garner & Louis Gossett teamed up in two memorable episodes of "The Rockford Files". Before that, however, they starred in "The Skin Game" with Susan Clark (best known as the mother on the t.v. show "Webster"). The Skin game is a smart comedy which also functions as an effective critique of the institution of slavery. All three stars are appealing and Garner does what he did best in "Maverick" and Rockford -- the con game. The con here is simple but enjoyable. The movie includes good performances by several familiar character actors of the era and features Ed Asner as the slave-trading bad guy. Due to "political correctness" I don't know if this movie could get made today, which is a shame. Highly recommended!

If you are a fan of 80's pop music, then this is a great movie to watch. It has a classic "good girl-boy from the wrong side of the tracks" storyline. The acting is superb, but Jessica Steen (the good girl) does give a great performance as do some of the other supporting actors. The movie is interspersed with great music that culminates with great musical numbers at the end. If you are a fan classic 80's movies, then this is a must see.

VHS : My Name Is Bill W.
Although not for everybody, this film gives us insight into the struggles of Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob the founders of AA. I think the acting was excellent. The characters were portrayed wonderfully by James Woods and James Garner. I learned a lot from this film and would recommend it to anybody who is involved in a 12 step program or works with recovery.

This was a very good movie or let's say script. I'm not a big fan of movie remakes but I think that this is one movie that should be remade with better actors and well known top notch actors. I still would leave this movie in the 70's decade don't update it to today's time.

But I think this movie would have been much better and much better received if it had "big stars" such as Robert Redford and yes even Barbra Streisand or someone of that caliber back then. I'd like to see this movie make it big and receive the attention it really deserved and still does deserve.

What is there not to like about these adorable rodents with their cute high pitched voices. I originally ordered a CD of Alvin to show my daughter. I had precious memories of listening to Alvin in my childhood and wanted to continue the tradition. Amazingly, just after that, the movie of Alvin and the chipmunks came out at the cinema. My daughter was so excited! She proceeded to tell all her friends about Alvin, before the movie had even come out. An excellent gift for young ones (or those young at heart).

I actually loved this movie, and liked it more than part 1. Part one hsd s little too much screaming in it and the scenic views were not as awesome as part 2. Just an enjoyable and entertaining movie to watch.

I am pleased and happy that I purchased The 3rd and final movie of The Wilderness Family. It was very well done and just as entertaining as the first and second movie. My favorite was the 2nd episode mostly because I love snow scenes and this one had many. I would have loved to see them carry out the beautiful music of the first two movies but other than that the movie was great. I will watch these over and over. I personally did not see anything about Boomer in this last movie that would make me question his integrity. I am so glad that I listened to the last review and believed it. Take a chance and get this movie. It will complete this beautiful story line for you.
