Irwin Allen's follow-up to "The Poseidon Adventure" was a star studded spectacle with wonderful special effects and lots of suspense. Starring Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Faye Dunaway and William Holden. Music by John Williams. Look for Maureen McGovern singing "We May Never Love Like This Again".

This is a decent film that deserves to be re-issued on DVD. While not a big budget opus like infamous Mel Gibson's THE PATRIOT, this is a much higher quality film overall. While a bit slow in the beginning with family relationships in Lexington, the film picks up when the British at last appear on the screen! There is a nice shot of the British columm deploying impressively into line to face Captain Parker's company. The only problem here is that the British force at this point consisited of six companies of Light Infantry who jogged into town at a fast clip before forming line opposite the militia. This would have been less impressive to show, plus i guess the available re-enactors could not all be shown in Light Infantry garb. So we get the usual mix of line companies, Grenadiers and ... VHS : Report to the Commissioner
I read James Mills novel long before I ever saw the film. When it played in early 1974, it came and went without much notice, being overshadowed that year by (late 1973's) SERPICO and MAGNUM FORCE. Too bad. This is a solid crime drama, written by 2 noteworthy screenwriters, Abby Mann (KOJAK) and Ernest Tidyman (SHAFT)and probably would have gotten raves and Emmey consideration had it been a made for TV pic. REPORT reflects NYPD corruption of the 1970's but the main storyline is men in crisis: a naive cop (Michael Moriarty) and a drug dealer (Tony King in a powerhouse turn)gun barrell to gun barrell in a Saks 5th Ave. elevator; The NYPD brass (played by classic character vets as Dana Elcar, Ed Grover, Hector Elizondo)concocting a high level whitewash; a veteran detective (Yaphet Kotto) who must resort to ... VHS : Honor Thy Father & Mother: Menendez Killings
Some of the acting lacks a bit on the part of Lyle (Billy Warlock) but David Beron who plays Erik is great. James Farentino as Jose Menendez is displayed exactly as how the boys explain him on the stand. About the same in detail as Menendez: A Killing in Beverly Hills, but the acting is a little better in that one.

One of the most memorable & well acted mini-series EVER. I check to see if it has been released on DVD every month. So where is it???????? I just don't understand why this fantastic mini-series has yet to be released on DVD in the good old USA. I have a region 2 player, but I
keep holding out for a Region 1 release. I'm always sure it is just around the corner, but............

Having studied the abduction phenomenon in some depth, and being acquainted with all the published work of Budd Hopkins, John Mack and David Jacobs over 20 years with thousands of abductees, I had low expectations of a dramatized movie doing justice to this enormous and detailed subject.

But wow, what a surprise. The movie really is good. It could be watched by a viewer very familiar with the subject, or one to whom the subject matter might be new and unknown, and both would find it absorbing and compulsive viewing. The screenplay is very strong, the plot line thoughtful in its development and the direction and editing really first class. The actors are all excellent, and the slow conversion of the psychiatrist character to acceptance of the phenomenon as real in the face of the mounting evidence is ... Read More

History's arch-demon is shown decliniing into suicide with a retinue of true believers that are still left in an underground bunker/pre-crypt. Hopkins always does good work, and has such amzing range. From my admittedly limited personal knowledge of the subject, it seemed to realistically capture yet another instance of the Beast going down and returning to dust. His Soul? Gehenna is my best guess. Hitler, his ... Read More

It is a a very intense. Rick shows he can really act w/ the best of them! He goes completly off track from his normal rolls and does it extremly well! He plays a very bad guy and even though it's Rick, there are times that even I hate him in this role! It also has a great story line and keeps you guessing for a while! I recommend this to anyone -Rick fan or not! ENJOY!

this dvd had good quality, but poor sound, when songs played in the background or alot of sounds combined together, it sounded like they were played out of an airplane engine, it had a loud hiss with the music on this dvd. other than that it's good but not that good, basically the sound wasn't remastered for this DVD!
