This is a very inventive, technically brilliant cartoon. It has a lot of incredibly funny scenes and a great many superb comic in jokes.

For the time this was made, the special effects are stunning. This is a great piece of entertainment.

VHS : Way West
The one thing I have learned about the so-called "professional" reviewers of films is that they have built in prejudices and ideas just like the rest of us...so I really do not pay that much attention to a review, good or bad. As for The Way West" I have seen this film at least twice. I enjoyed it both times. While I like The Big Sky better, that is not to say I did not enjoy this film. Probably the one negative I have is Sally Fields portraying a young tramp who causes problems for others along the way. But then I was never a Sally Fields fan. I have nothing personal against her, but I liked other actresses much better. I did enjoy watching Robert Mitchum, Richard Widmark and Kirk Douglas; I consider all of them to be great actors, so what is not to like? And I liked Lola Albright's performance ... Read More

Quality of DVD excellent.
As an old-fashioned musical there is something missing from the entire production to make it a true classic that would warrant watching it many times like SINGING IN THE RAIN or SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS. Political theme still surpirisingly timely. Boy meets girl etc. concept cute. Leads talented. I think what's missing is inspired innovative choeorgraphy - lots of box and circle formations and bouncing up and down which is actually boring to watch. If you've seen just about every musical in the A and B leagues and you have time on your hands or if you're related to one of the cast members, Li'l Abner is just OK as an ole relic.

VHS : Cat Ballou
This film is a strange one for me as I remember I actually hated it the first time I watched it years back but when I started looking seriously at old films and especially Westerns I began to appreciate "Cat Ballou" a lot more and now after seeing this a few times, I have to say that this is an excellent, hilarious spoof on Westerns and the jokes age very well even to today. As a big fan of all kinds of music myself, I really appreciated the role that Nat King Cole in one of his last performances ever before his death by lung cancer together with Stubby Kaye in the hilarious sung narrative that runs throughout the film. It's amazing what was accomplished on clearly a tiny budget and I thought the cast was very good and especially Lee Marvin was the alcoholic gunfighter.

The dvd is also good value for money as it has ... Read More

I remember watching this film on TV when I was a kid.

In the 1990's I grabbed it the minute it was released on video tape.

Where the heck is the DVD of this for Disney/Disneyland fans?

The first film at Disneyland.

Story a simple 1960's film. I liked Suzanne's character.

Interesting to see old casinos.

Disneyland fan I am seeing the park in color early 1960's is great. Monorail & Matterhorn. Incorrect shots-getting off the Monorail & they are looking at Sleeping Beauty Castle?

Apparently Walt moved it for the film? Ha ha.

The use of the park I thought was great.

Whether you are a Disney fan or not and just looking for a simple, no curse words, no nudity comedy then you can enjoy this film. Films are NOT ... Read More

I remember seeing this miniseries when it was first shown in the 80's. An epic miniseries than spans many years in the lives of an assorted cast of characters that include Faye Dunaway, Richard Burton, Ann Jillian and many others that went on to become familar faces on TV and film. As most miniseries from this era, there is adultery, murder and sex. If you get a chance to see this don't be discouraged by the length, sit back and enjoy. I only wish this were available on DVD!
