VHS : A Cry In The Wild
While the movie wasn't nearly as good as the book, it was an excellent teaching tool for my fifth graders. Many are reluctant readers. After reading the book and viewing the movie, the book won hands down. Mission accomplished. Although the movie was somewhat of a disappointment, the service I received was excellent. If I need to purchase movies or materials for my classroom in the future, amazon.com will be one of my first stops.

VHS : Sunstroke (1992)
"Sunstroke" is the type of mystery/suspense television movie that you have already seen hundreds of times before. It's what is referred to as "filler". Its sole purpose is to take up space on some poor channel's schedule. The way they represent the city of Scottsdale, AZ is absolutely laughable. It might as well be some sleepy little town of a few thousand the way it is presented here. The plot involves people being killed and we are supposed to be concerned as to who is doing it. Unfortunately, you are never given any reason to care about any character in this whole film. Trite, boring and predictable...stay away!

... she kept missing the boat, didn't she? She landed a co-starring role in Charlie's Angels just as the series was on its final slide to oblivion. Then came The Beastmaster, a fine adventure piece of fluff (which earned her a steaming pictorial in Playboy magazine, and that issue was for a while a much sought after collector's item) - but the genre fizzled out, so she never got a chance of achieving "B-queen" cult status. Next she played Velda in the two feature-length Mike Hammer pilots, and was slated to co-star in the series, yet opted out for what she believed would be *the* break into widescreen if not major at least second-tier stardom, the title role in the movie version of Sheena, Queen of the Jungle. Which turned out to be a flop ("a triple waste", I believe I called it in my review): ... Read More

This thriller is based on a single lady, Kristen (soon to be bride) who becomes abducted by a crazy psychotic drifter after a visit to her want-to-be husband, Sam, a park ranger in Death Valley. After Sam spots an accident a few miles in the desert, the two go out and investigate. Then the thrill starts.

This is a wonderful performance on the part of Esai Morales and the sexy Patricia Healy. I saw it as a teenager at the age of 16, and I have not forgotten it. This is a must-see for suspense thrillers. However, word of caution: There is a rape scene in it.

Now when I first watched this movie, I was screaming my head off. After I watched it again, I said to myself, self, this is crazy!! I loved this movie and watched the first one with Jennifer Jason Leigh. That was insane. I am a big fan of Kari Wuhrer and Jake Busey. But with all films that have a II, III, et., you loose the magic that the first one had. Why try and repeat it again.
