VHS : Die Another Day (Special Edition)
I decided to rewatch Pierce Brosnan's Bond swan song once again to see if it was as bad as so many seem to think it is. I had much warmer memories of it myself. Unfortunately I must conclude that it really IS that bad--at least the second half. The compelling opening sequence features a vulnerable 007 being tortured by the North Korean army and even boasts a cane-seat chair, though it's not put to such sinister use as the one Daniel Craig sat on. I happen to like Madonna's driving-techno titular theme theme song as much as I like "You Know My Name", which is bunches. Halle Berry is lovely to look at, but as Jinx receives no assistance from a script that requires her to deliver lines like "Ornithologist, huh? Now there's a mouthful" while staring at 007's crotch. The thrust-and-parry ... Read More

Okay this is kind of a cute kids movie that some adults will enjoy as well. Granted the miniature dinosaurs aren't up to Ray Harryhausen standards, but then it is still overall a lighthearted movie that most kids will enjoy. When some eggs are taken from a South American temple the curse seems to fall on the bad guys stealing them rather than the kids trying to protect them from commercialism. This one is not out on DVD yet so if you don't have access the the VHS you have to try and catch it on TV.

The brothers (played by Strother Martin, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Elam)as mentioned in other reviews, are "slap stick" at times. Welch's make-up was too heavy for the time period, and her dress un-buttoned down her navel while she is cooking, was a bit much. With all that it is still a very good movie and Robert Culp's best acting. He could teach me to shoot a gun anytime!

One of the better Welch movies, I have this on VHS and have watched it over and over!

Ahhh, I too remember watching this on late night HBO along with H.O.T.S., Revenge of the Nerds, and a few others that we all thought were cool, risque teen 80's flicks back in the day. I would love to own this on DVD!! Brings back memories of late summer nights and middle school sleepovers.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time and I anxiously bought it, inserested it in my new Samsung high-def capable DVD player. and clicked on long haul edition..and yes, I wanted to see deleted scenes and interviews. but, after trying several times, all I kept getting was the short version. Surely I'm missing something. I obviously am, or I wouldn't call myself Shirley. Feel free to comment.

I have marked 1 star, otherwise I can't go on with this procedure. But the truth is I can't rate "The Omen" at all, because I could never play it. Blu-Rays from Fox are always so tricky and so slow to load (why is that, when Warner or Columbia Blu-rays, for instance, are so easy and fast?) that I was'nt wandering why it was taking about ten minutes to get the main menu on screen. But when I cliked "Play", the menu dissappeared, but the image on the backgroung kept playing, and playing, and playing forever.
I just could'nt watch the movie.
An excellent reason to forget about Fox, as long as they don't correct these defficiencies.

VHS : The Blob
There are a few movies that I would consider very priceless and classic to the creature flick genre, the first and foremost being The Creature From The Black Lagoon and possibly Attack of the Giant Leeches. But The Blob is special in it's own way, not just because it is a classic. What this gave birth to was the sub genre of creature flicks that featured a pathetically stupid antagonist, in this case a gigantic gelatinous pile of goo. This is, in some ways, a science fiction flick too, because The Blob does come from space. In the time that the beast spreads its greasy reign of chaos, it eats several residents of a small suburban town. When it sneaks into a movie theater, a classic shot is spawned when what feels like hundreds of innocent bystanders (a mildly impressive amount of extras anyway) race out of the building screaming, ...
