VHS : Hannie Caulder
The brothers (played by Strother Martin, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Elam)as mentioned in other reviews, are "slap stick" at times. Welch's make-up was too heavy for the time period, and her dress un-buttoned down her navel while she is cooking, was a bit much. With all that it is still a very good movie and Robert Culp's best acting. He could teach me to shoot a gun anytime!

One of the better Welch movies, I have this on VHS and have watched it over and over!

Couldn't have made a better choice on such a hard to find film. Plus the price was excellent.

VHS : Ben Hur (1959)
The story of a prominent and wealthy Jewish family, whose feud with a Roman friend nearly destroys them. An extremely emotional story against the backdrop of the birth and crucifixion of Jesus Christ is one of the greatest epics ever filmed. The chariot race is one of the most impressive and longest action pieces I've ever seen! That sequence alone takes the film out of the realm of greatness into an outstanding piece of visual cinema!

4.Abandon Ship starring: Tyrone Power, Mai Zetterling, Lloyd Nolan, Stephen Boyd, Moira Lister

VHS : Abandon Ship
From the opening scenes, director Richard Sale makes you aware that this is not going to be a "pretty" film. With the small shot of a simple sea mine floating in the water transforming into a classic 1950s explosion with horrific screams of passengers, Sale again reminds you that this is not going to be a typical Hollywood disaster film. As a reviewer, I must remind those reading that this is not a pretty picture - do not expect your typical film where the heroine always makes good decisions and those that are made do not impact the lives of others. "Seven Waves Away" was a flawless film. It is one of those rare, extremely rare gems that has gone out of print, probably forgotten by most, but when found will provide the most gut-wrenching 97 minutes of cinematic viewing. The plot is simple - a luxury liner ... Read More

VHS : Fantastic Voyage
Sci-fi fans will, more than likely, consider two films from 1968 as being the best of the genre: "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Planet of the Apes. To that duo, however, I would like to add "Fantastic Voyage," from two years earlier and also from Twentieth Century Fox, the studio that released "Planet" and its seguels.

As fans and film buffs know, "Voyage" tells the tale of a special team miniaturized in order the save a dying scientist from a life-threatening blood clot, the result of an assassination attempt on his life. The film boasts then-state-of-the art special effects, an Oscar-worthy score from Leonard Rosenman, and the anatomical assets, appropriately for a film about biology, of Raquel Welch. So impressive are the sets that they were reused many times for Irwin Allen TV shows.

VHS : Man Who Never Was
This is one of the most meticulously well told espionage stories ever!

Clifton Webb gives a stunning performance as the cold Lt. Commander Mantagu, whose mission is to create a diversion tactic to lure the Germans away from the real Italian location the British plan to invade. So he thinks of the most daring, sophisticated and simple plan of them all: to have a dead British officer carrying top secret information falling on the hands of the Germans. But the plan is not easy and every detail must be calculated with care as the Germans will know the information is too good, therefore, they will investigate the dead man's life in order to spot any fabrication.

Most of the film revolves around the making of the "the man" - getting the right body, producing the documents, finding him a personal life, preserving him ... Read More

A good video to understand the history of the Roman Empire. This video was instrumental in helping my child understand the history of what happened during this era.

VHS : The Oscar

I had wanted to see this movie for years, after only knowing the parody SCTV did in the early 80s ("The Nobel")...It exceeded all my expectations; I would say SCTV's version only exaggerated the film by about 10 percent! The real reason to watch is Tony Bennett as the jewish-Irishman Hymie Kelly (do you think we'd get it, with a name like that?):his performance is the opposite of his singing range, a 1-note, over-the-top set-devouring scream! The 'climactic' scene where he beats up Steven Boyd with a wastepaper basket must be seen to be believed!
I really love this film, though, because it represents the final moments of classic Hollywood, before the poisonous influence of late-60s "youth culture"(beginning with BONNIE AND CLYDE) lead American movies down the path of tedious "naturalism" and nihilistic antiheroes...give me the ... This is a fine action video. Richard Cranna plays the title role. Noon is wrounded at the beginning of the film and loses his memory. He must piece together his life.
