VHS : Planet of the Vampires
Although this 1965 film is an Italian production, directed by the famed Mario Bava, it was released by American International and stars American Barry Sullivan as the captain and main protagonist. Its original Italian title is (translated) "Terror in Space," which is better than the American title "Planet of the Vampires" (also "Demon Planet") seeing as how there are no blood-sucking vampires anywhere to be seen.

THE STORY: Barry Sullivan commands a spaceship that goes to a strange unknown planet in response to a distress call from another ship. They soon discover that the creepy planet is home to incorporeal aliens who desire their bodies and ship to leave the planet.

Although "Terror in Space" came out a year before the original Star Trek appeared on television, ... Read More

VHS : Demons
It's about what you would expect from a 1980s European horror movie. The movie is dubbed, the acting is bad and there are continuity problems that are pretty funny. One scene, a girl has a pony tail and a second later she doesn't. There is another scene where a dead person has their eyes open and then the next time you see the person a moment later, the eyes have closed (not because they were supposed to, but an obvious blooper). The dub acting was so bad, whoever was talking for the black guy reminded me a lot of Robert Downey Jr.'s character on Tropic Thunder. Maybe it was him! The gore itself is not a splatter fest like the comment on the cover of the movie suggests. It is basically typical of what you would see on a zombie movie like Night of the Living Dead. Maybe it was shocking in its ... Read More

--NUDE FOR SATAN--

Oh, what a stupendous title. This classic 70's sleaze almost lives up to that genius billing. I'm curious about all these bad reviews. Those people must not be fans of nudity, lesbianism, nudity, filth, nudity, sadomasochism, nudity, torture, nudity, or graphic nudity. Weird.

Here's the plot--
Storm.
Car wreck.
Gothic castle.
Nudity. Lots of nudity.
Dopplegangers, ghouls, monsters, Satan.
Sex and torture.

What's not to love?

VHS : Night of the Sharks
Don't expect this movie to be a shark attack movie. It's a bad attempt at some sort of action movie about some guy who blackmails some businessman who sends some gangsters to kill the blackmailer and get a CD from him. When the blackmailer goes to Mexico to visit his brother, he also becomes a target of the gangsters. Add two or three scenes involving a shark and you have "Night of the Sharks". The script is bad. The characters are dull and the story moves slowly and seems to go on forever. You're glad once it's over.

Don't waste your time and money on this movie.
