VHS : Hercules: Zero to Hero
If you are expecting this to be a sequal to Disney's Hercules...you will be let down tremendously, not because it's bad...but because it's not a sequal. It is not a "Full Length Movie" either. What it is is a few episodes of Disney's Hercules TV Series put onto tape. And I may say...it is FANTASTIC for what it is.
All of the episodes on this tape (The First Day of School, The YearBook, The Grim Avenger, and and the Visit from Zeus) are truly some of the best in the series. If you are a fan of the movie, or the series...this is definatley worth watching. All of the Herc-Humor is their. Plus...all of the voice actors, with the exception of Danny Davito, have all returned to voice their characters, which makes the experiance more enjoyable. This tape will satify all the Die-hard Herc fans ... Read More

4.Permanent Midnight starring: Ben Stiller, Maria Bello, Jay Paulson, Spencer Garrett, Owen Wilson
directed by: David Veloz

VHS : Permanent Midnight
Based on the autobiography of Jerry Stahl who is playhed by a very subdued Ben Stiller(no humour here). The cast is rounded off by owen Wilson and Genine Gerafalo as well as Elizabeth Hurley. It is essentially a movie about a writer who goes from small town nobody to big stardom writing for Alf and other 1980s comedy shows, but his downfall comes through heroin addiction. This is mostly a chronicle of this downfall, his shakes and endless search for another hit. It is tragic but eventually the viewer stops caring, his life is not so interesting and it is not that compelling a story. It is mostly just depressing, wathcing Stahl be arrested while driving high with his child in the seat next to him.

Not that great a film, but a true breakthrough role for Stiller.

VHS : Albino Alligator
The transition from actor to director is not always as easy as it seems. Sometimes it takes years to make the transition, and that is quite apparent with Kevin Spacey's Albino Alligator. Spacey attempts to hit a homerun on his first at bat but ends up getting a solid single instead.

The film deals with a botched heist (not the sort of story-line that is exactly lacking in Hollywood these days) and the relationships between the three main criminals. What we see is the thin lines between loyalty and survival, and the great lengths some will go to ensure their own preservation, even at the expense of those closest to them.

There are moments in intense drama throughout the film, and a climax that you probably won't see coming, but overall, Albino Alligator reminds me of that glass of water in the ... Read More

7.Man of the House starring: Chevy Chase, Farrah Fawcett, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, George Wendt, David Shiner

VHS : Man of the House
If you do not know about this movie, then you are about to be served with a treat unlike any treat you have ever received.

It stars Chevy Chase, who IMHO has just gotten funnier over the years, and Jonathan Taylor Thomas (the star of Home Improvement) as nutty people saying the zaniest things. Disney scores another home run with Man of the House, and the comedy grabs you by the throat from the very first scene and never loosens its grip.

If you've never seen any Chevy Chase movies (and what's wrong with you, if so?!) then this is definitely the one to see. He is very, very sarcastic which is my sense of humor too, and he has some of the funniest faces and zingers that you'd ever want to see/hear. But he has definitely met his match with the kid from Home Improvement, who delivers wisecracks like ... Read More

8.George of the Jungle starring: Brendan Fraser, Leslie Mann, John Cleese, Thomas Haden Church, Richard Roundtree
directed by: Sam Weisman
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

>>More Details
VHS : George of the Jungle
Good-natured, family-oriented comedy about a clumsy ape man who lives in the jungle amongst the animals and never seems able to stop crashing into trees. During a safari, he encounters a beautiful damsel in distress (Mann) and immediately falls in love with her. Despite their differences in lifestyles, he leaves his beloved jungle and travels to the big city where he tries to win her affections and adapt to civilization. It more ways than one this inherently goofy, episodic film resembles an extended television series with zany characters and a predictable setup, but it's smart, funny, and the gags are right on target. Fraser, never more likable, is perfectly cast, aided by a sly narrator and an over-the-top Cleese who really scores as the voice of ape.
