Too many films about race relations and prejudice are either geared toward adults only or are so much about the past that they are too graphic and cannot be shown to children. This is not the case with The Color of Friendship. I am 43 years old and grew up in the south. I watch this movie over and over. The movie starts with both girls having preconceived ideas of what race the other should be based on the society and country that they live in. Early on they learn that they are wrong. This - along with so many other things - are lessons that adults too can learn from. I've watched this movie SO many times back when it aired on Disney, and I've watched its predecessor and successor as well. It's obviously a Disney movie, made for the 8-to-15 age range, but for someone like me who's into space exploration and future technologies, the movie surpasses the age barrier. It obviously has some pitfalls for older viewers, particularly the that's-too-easy plot line and some of the more embarrassing catch-phrases that the writers created for use as "space slang," but there are also some fantastic space elements in the movie. The claymation type animation in this video is excellent. Also, the music is absolutely contagious! My little boy can't get enough of it, which is great because all three stories on the tape teach about valuable real-life situations and lessons. Great for little ones from age two on up to probably around five or six years.

My son loves Noddy and watched it every day while we lived in Europe. He was so upset to discover that it didn't come on in America, so I looked for one online. I was disappointed not to be able to find it on DVD. I bought this one and my son loves to watch it, but the theme song is way different than the one on BBC. These songs are slow and kind of boring while the one on BBC was fast and fun. He always asks to sing the real Noddy song when we watch it. Overall, this is okay, but not what we were hoping for.
