VHS : Love Crimes (Unrated Edition)
There are erotic thrillers that succeed in their genre (e.g. Basic Instinct, Jade), but this one felt awkward and contrived. I think its producers were trying to ride on the coat tails of the immensely popular Basic Instinct by attracting some of that audience. I know that's why I and friends went to see it in theatres. But we were disappointed, both in the story and the acting.
I think Sean Young is very attractive, from the first time I saw her in Dune and then in No Way Out, but her nude scenes in this film were embarrassing. I agree with someone else who said her proportions were much better in Ace Ventura and, I might add, Dr. Jeckyll and Ms. Hyde. She may have had some work done.
I admit I haven't yet seen the unrated version so it might change my opinions.

VHS : Stripes
In The Simpsons, Sideshow Bob has a tendency to step on rakes with his big feet, crashing the handle into his face. The sound he utters is a kind of a vocal shudder: "ahrhbbbahrhbbbbahrhbbbbbahrhbbbbbahrhbbb."

I felt like repeating this throughout the movie.

In Stripes, Bill Murray joins the US Army. He makes it through boot camp with his "reject authority" attitude, then gets sent to Europe where, of course, everybody else is stupid. At times, he gives you that Caddyshack "lip droop"; otherwise he's just smirking, joking, and being sarcastic.

This was pretty sophomoric throughout. Lots of sex jokes, partial nudity, army officers are all stupid, yada yada.

Stripes might have started off Bill Murray's movie career, but this one should have ... Read More

VHS : Lorna Doone (1993)
This version does not have the authentic, I-feel-like-I'm-there aspect of the A&E movie. The actors are, for the most part, wooden (with Sean Bean the exception) and the "romance" seems forced and contrived. In fact, there is no kissing until the end of the movie!!!! The triangle between John Ridd, Lorna Doone (or Lady Lorna Dugal, whichever you prefer)and the evil Carver Doone isn't mentioned or expanded upon. We don't get much insight into Carver here, or as to why he has some (if any) romantic feelings for Lorna. This movie cuts out many of the key and interesting characters of the novel, such as Counsellor Doone, and John's sharp-tongued youngest sister Lizzie which were crucial to the plot. The screenplay itself is lacking in conviction. The political intrigue also doesn't figure in the script. ... Read More

One of the worst movies ever. A sorry waste of time and film. The directing is trite, the performances are ridiculous and even the sets and costumes offer no redemption. Just awful. Outdone only by Merchant's other film "Cotton Mary". Really, the guy should stick to producing and let Ivory do the directing. I feel for the actors who participated in this farce and hope that they were able to pick up their careers after such an embarrassment.

8.Baby: Secret of Lost Legend starring: William Katt, Sean Young, Patrick McGoohan, Julian Fellowes, Kyalo Mativo

This movie is a classic. I went to every video store to find it and only amazon had it. The only problem with this and all movies here is that they dont say if they are subtitled and that would be very helpful for the spanish speaking population. All in all, the movie is great and the quality ..perfect, not to mention the cost value and speedy shipping to Puerto Rico.

If you haven't seen Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, you are missing out on Carrey at his greatest. Fun, silly, and packed full of laughs, be prepared for the preposterous. Good supporting cast.

VHS : Fatal Instinct
This film is A very funny spoof of film noir, and many suspense films(including "9 1/2 Weeks","Cape Fear","Sleeping with The Enemy","Fatal Attraction",and "Basic Instinct".The cast is very funny, Especially Armand Assante as A cop/lawyer(who thinks he knows everything about women),and Sean Young As A Blonde femme fatale(who carries an ice pick lighter, and always has something stuck to her heels). The film is funny, but tries to hard to be A Mel Brooks Spoof.Carl Reiner, although A Genius,is not quite Mel Brooks. So some of the jokes, don't come off that well. The cast is so good however, they make up for the films shortcomings.4 stars,it's not hilarious, but it comes very close.Fatally Funny, almost!
