VHS : Gremlins
Don't expose them to sunlight. Don't let them get wet. And under no circumstances feed them after midnight.

Those are the rules for the now-legendary mogwai, adorable little fuzzballs who transform if you break the last rule. And "Gremlins" is a gloriously unconventional Christmas movie -- a postcard-pretty view of suburban middle-America, splattered with gore, nasty little gremlins and a truly wicked sense of humour (expressed often in movie send-ups).

Randall (Hoyt Axton) spots a tiny adorable creature -- a mogwai -- in a small Chinatown shop, and wants to buy it as a Christmas present for his son. The owner refuses, but his grandson secretly sells it to Randall.

Randall's son Billy (Zach Galligan) is delighted by the fuzzy lightphobic mogwai, whom ... Read More

VHS : Kansas City Massacre
The Kansas City Massacre was the shootout and murder of four law enforcement officers and a criminal fugitive at the Union Station railroad depot in Kansas City, Missouri on the morning of June 17, 1933. According the official FBI report, the Kansas City Massacre occurred as the result of the attempt by Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd, Vernon Miller, and Adam Richetti to free their friend, Frank Nash, a federal prisoner. At the time, Nash was in the custody of several law enforcement officers who were returning him to the U.S. Penitentiary at Leavenworth, Kansas, from which he had escaped three years earlier. However all of the men alleged to be involved denied involvement. Floyd, in particular, went so far as to write a newspaper denying involvement in the massacre.

VHS : My Demon Lover
This is one movie that I watched when I was younger and still til this day remains one of my favorites though you cant find it anywhere but on a VHS and lets face it people VHS will soon be out of date just like our old record, 8 track and cassette players thats why this jem belongs on DVD. I would certainly buy this movie if it was on DVD but I'm not paying $15 or more for an used VHS. Scott Valentine and Michelle Little does a wonderful job in this hilarious comedy as well as the underrated Gina Gallego who also starred on NBC's Santa Barbara!
So my suggestion is if you ever get a chance to watch this movie on tv do it you wont regret it but yes it is worth $15 on a DVD!!! Please people put this movie to a DVD!

7.Go West Young Man starring: Mae West, Warren William, Randolph Scott, Alice Brady, Elizabeth Patterson

VHS : Go West Young Man
Marvis Arden (Mae West) is a sensational movie star. Her following spans the world and her personal appearance tours prove her popularity. On her way home from one such appearance, Arden's car breaks down. She orders her publicity man (Warren William) to find her a place to stay, suspicious that he planned the break down to keep her away from a man. However, she soon finds herself mooning over an attractive repairman in town (Randolph Scott) and listening to his ideas about inventing equipment for film.

West is wonderful as always in this breezy and enjoyable movie. She has many snappy quips, especially brilliant since she wrote the script herself. It is always exciting to see Hollywood parodying itself and its stars. The visual elements are quite good, especially the opener. The story is somewhat ... Read More

8.Marooned starring: Gregory Peck, Richard Crenna, David Janssen, James Franciscus, Gene Hackman
directed by: John Sturges
January 03, 1996
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Marooned
Marooned was a poor movie at best having a minimal story, weak acting and dialogue, poor special effects, and no musical score to speak of. Rocky Jones Space Ranger, the TV space opera of the 50's for kids, had far better special effects. The drawn out ending was actually painful to sit through and watching the three astronauts go bouncing off the walls was not an interesting or credible story.

It is amazing that this film received any awards for special effects as the screen effects in Marooned featured suspended plastic models against simple and often very out of scale backgrounds. The crude models were not even airbrushed and reflected light off their specular points in the unrealistic lighting. How this effort warranted an academy award when compared to 2001 is criminal. In Hollywood anything is possible ... Read More

9.When Every Day Was the Fourth of July starring: Dean Jones, Louise Sorel, Chris Petersen, Katy Kurtzman, Harris Yulin

VHS : When Every Day Was the Fourth of July
With Dean Jones in the lead role you can't go wrong. The story chronicles the trial of a mute war hero who is on trial for his life. An ex-attorney (Jones) is asked by his young daughter to defend the mute with a surprise verdict and ending. This show was originally considered for a series but was rejected by the studios because it was too clean (no potential sex or violence story lines). Great story, cinematography and score. For more background on this film, read Dean Jones' autobiography "Under Running Laughter" where he devotes 2-3 chapters. Jones took this role due to its clean storyline and his no compromise beliefs concerning his Christian faith and his desire to do family-friendly films. Plenty of cameos in this film.

10.He Walked By Night (B&W) starring: Richard Basehart, Scott Brady, Roy Roberts, Whit Bissell, James Cardwell

VHS : He Walked By Night (B&W)
Everybody ought to know by now that director Alfred Werker's semi-documentary police procedural "He Walked By Night" with Richard Basehart and Scott Brady, inspired Jack Webb's classic radio and television crime series "Dragnet." The evocative, film noir photography of the late great John Alton, who also lensed a couple of John Sturges films "Mystery Street" and "The People Against O'Hara" as well as Richard Brooks' "Elmer Gantry," gives this lean, mean 1949 thriller an edge that neither its budget nor its action could have achieved in tandem. Alton's photography makes "He Walked By Night" the memorable experience that it remains. Good acting by all involved bolsters the film's credibility, especially a low-key Basehart registering brilliantly as a contemplative homicidal killer with a pet dog. The dog humanizes Basehart's elusive ... Read More
