VHS : Sex and the City - The Complete Fifth Season
i completely 100% love the fifth season of sex and the city. true it is extremely short and overpriced but the 8 episodes are pure gold. A lot of the reviewers bemoaned the fact that this season suffers from a lack of laughs and is more serious and the characters feel unlike themselves. I tell those reviewers to take a closer look at the end of season 4, the journeys and behaviours of the four leads is completely truthful and relatably to real life after where we left them last. They are all burnt out, they have all had there hearts broken yet again and now they have realised that they are no longer as young as they once were and therefore feel terrified by the fact that they are still alone. I felt most for Carrie in this season, true she acts selfish towards some of friends at times in this ... Read More

VHS : Footloose
After hearing that "Footloose" was being remade (just in time for its 25th anniversary; god I feel old) with Zac Effron of "High School Musical" fame in the lead role made famous by Kevin Bacon, I couldn't resist revisiting a movie that was a huge a part of my own high school years. No doubt about it, "Footloose" is a film that screams EIGHTIES, defining its era in the same way that "Saturday Night Fever" defined the disco days of the Seventies (and perhaps the way that the HSM films will be seen to define this decade in the future.) It's all here: big hair, tight sweaters, tighter jeans, legwarmers (in a brief opening montage) and super-slick Eighties pop music...it was the golden age of MTV, and in many ways, "Footloose," like "Flashdance" before it, is a glorified, movie-length music video, especially ... VHS : Sex and the City - The Complete Third Season
I think in the 3rd season of SATC the series gets into its stride and it becomes the SATC that people have grown to love. It's a toss up which is my favorite between season 3 and 4 but my absolute favorite episode is Hot Child in the City found in season 3!

I purchased this for my teenage niece and she really liked it. She said she would watch it a second time so I think it must be really good.

VHS : Ed Wood
Ed Wood is based on the life and work of Edward D. Wood Jr, who has been perhaps both saddled and blessed with the title of Worst Director of All Time. Filmed entirely in black and white it both mirrors Wood's own work and draws humor from it. The result is one of my favorite films of all time.
The first time I watched it I spent most of the movie laughing at everything from the bad props, to the poor scripts, to Depp's even-more-optomistic-then-Spongebob portrayal of Wood, but with subsequent viewings I have come to see the sadder side of the story; Wood's failure to find success and stardom, Legosi's fall from grace and struggles with drug addiction, and the rag tag band of partners that would all share their exploits. It tells the tale of all those left in Hollywood's dustbin.

VHS : La Story
LA Story is a delight to watch. just wondering if this version has deleted scenes as a special feature. There is a deleted scene with John Lithgow as a producer of a musical play meeting with Steve Martin at an outdoor cafe that is so funny. The language used was a ratings barrier that would have limited the audience at the time.
