VHS : FernGully - The Last Rainforest
This is a very environmental movie, with pollution as the monster and the objective was to save Fern Gully the rain forest. Overall, it was very enjoyable.

VHS : Cold Sassy Tree
A flawless scrpit, award winning actors, what else is there to say. Cold Sassy is a beautiful, touching story of love and loss. One of my favorites that I can pass down generations.

VHS : Little Women (Slip)
My family of boys and girls loves this family classic. We can sit and watch it anytime and remember that the most important things are under your own roof.

4.The American President starring: Michael Douglas, Annette Bening, Martin Sheen, Michael J. Fox, Anna Deavere Smith
directed by: Rob Reiner
January 12, 1999
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : The American President
This is a skilfully directed and performed piece of leftist propaganda that holds its punches until the film is 80% complete. Then Rob Reiner unloads on you in a presidential speech that contains all the extreme and often crude left wing views that dominate contemporary Hollywood. The huge talents of Bening and Douglas are wasted. The film's writer deserves a special raspberry award for muddying an otherwise unbelievable script. All in all, this film is just the ticket for Michael Moore fans. For people even slightly higher on the intellectual ladder, The American President is a disappointing waste of time.

5.Super Mario Bros starring: Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, Dennis Hopper, Samantha Mathis, Fisher Stevens
directed by: Annabel Jankel, Dean Semler, Rocky Morton, Roland Joffé

VHS : Super Mario Bros
I saw this when I was a kid, and though I wasn't exactly a huge fan of it, I did collect quite a few of the trading cards. Saw it again just recently. Though it augments a couple of the ideas from the Super Mario series (Thwomp Stompers, Goombas, etc), Super Mario Bros is nothing like those early Nintendo games. Rather than being a colourful, cute and varied fantasy, the world of the "Mushroom Kingdom" is trashy and dirty, full of crime, cars, cages and sci-fi explanations. Still, I found it entertaining enough, I loved Bob Hoskins as Mario, particularly his scenes in New York as a plumber and his banter with Luigi. Plus, the film captures a style and an era that is thoroughly interesting.

Mario and his kid brother Luigi are plumbers, and after finishing a job run into Daisy, a student archaeologist ... Read More

6.Music of Chance starring: James Spader, Mandy Patinkin, M. Emmet Walsh, Charles Durning, Joel Grey
directed by: Philip Haas

VHS : Music of Chance
This is a strange little art-house film that holds your attention simply because you have no idea just where it is going or why. I found the ending unnerving but oddly fitting. A surprisingly different role for James Spader to play and I am not sure he pulled it off in his usual competent way.

7.The Punisher starring: Thomas Jane, John Travolta, Samantha Mathis, Laura Harring, Will Patton
directed by: Jonathan Hensleigh
September 07, 2004
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : The Punisher
Lots of special effects don't save this movie that follows a predictable story line that ends up being another edition of an old formula movie. It was exciting at times, but overall dull and boring. :-)

8.The Mists of Avalon starring: Anjelica Huston, Julianna Margulies, Joan Allen, Samantha Mathis, Caroline Goodall
directed by: Uli Edel

VHS : The Mists of Avalon
As an avid fan of the original MZB masterpiece, I was truly saddened, disgusted, and furious, at what these Hacks (the Writer's, Producers, Editors, Costume Designers [were totally anacronistic in what thy came up with, btw], and Studio Execs.) did to such an excellent work.

I mean really! Just where do they get off by totally changing almost everythin that was/is contained in the book, into what was/is presented??? I'd sure like to know.

Although, I do applaud all the actors involved. Givren what they were given, they truly triumphed. And I do agree with the other poster on the "Heighth Issue", except, my research into this issuue, has led me to think/know, that they weren't "Fariy" born, but rather "Elven, or remanants of the Tuattha de Dannan, which ruled Western Briton, Scotland, and Wales, ... VHS : Sweet Jane
As in most of these reviews, i was flipping through the channels in the middle of the night, not really enjoying a free month of showtime that our dish network provided us, when i stumbled on this movie. it was about 15 minutes into it. once i started watching it, i couldn't stop. this movie changed me. it takes a lot for a movie to make me feel anything, but Sweet Jane cut through. Plus, the cliched junkie story was very interesting. What really sticks in my mind, however, is the final scene... i'm actually afraid to watch it again, wondering if that first high i got from Sweet Jane can be repeated.

10.Freak City starring: Samantha Mathis, Natalie Cole, Marlee Matlin, Peter Sarsgaard, Jonathan Silverman
