VHS : Gung Ho (1986)
Today I work with many Asians. Particularly I have many Japanese customers. As a teen seeing this movie for the first time I couldn't appreciate how prophetic it was.

I decided to pick it up and watch it again, not having seen it for over 20 years. It holds up so, so well.

Don't get caught up in all the anti-USA propaganda of the past decade. Watch this movie. It will help you recognize that the USA is still a young nation, filled with the promise and naive "can-do" attitude that only comes from those that are young. Not every other country hates us...and yes, for most we Americans "make them laugh", and that is a very good thing.

VHS : Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III
This one doesn't have the same kind of charm as the first two and the fact that the Jim Henson team didn't do the animatronics on this one doesn't bode well for it. It ends up as a mostly watchable outing that suffers from a lack of real gravitas to the story. At least they've moved on from the "origin story" structure of the first two movies, allowing the Turtles to simply exist in this world. However the idea of sending them back in time to Asia doesn't serve them as well as they might have hoped.

The beginning of 90's was full of court dramas and murder thrillers. This is a very good combination of both, which means it will attract the fans of both genres. A very good movie with a surprise ending. One of the best movies of both Harrison Ford and the legendary Alan J. Pakula. Deputy Prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Ford) is assigned to investigate the murder of a woman he had an affair with. All evidences are against him. Framed Sabich is desperate to reveal the real killer...so are the viewers! But believe me the ending will surpass all your expectations and anticipations. Charming Scacchi and the beautifully shot love scenes add so much to the film. Do not hurry to presume...

I don't know if it is because it wasn't just Ken Burns or what but it wasn't A+ like his most of his other works. It left out some details that seemed needed for the story. I own most all of Ken Burns work but this is one I just rented and didn't buy.

The product description for this dvd is hugely misleading. Not only is the running time just the extended cut and theatrical cut combined, but the extended cut is the TV version broadcast on ABC without the nudity, excessive violence and profanity. So unless you want the real director's cut which doesn't exist, this is definitely NOT it.

This funky bunch is better than his first funky bunch and this movie is hilarious and should be seen by any fan of Mr. Wahlberg.

Lou Diamond and the other two give a pretty standard performance for their careers. OWN IT!!!
