VHS : Little Bill - Merry Christmas
My girls (5 and 2) love Little Bill. This past Christmas, we bought our girls the Nick Jr. Christmas DVD for a long car trip. Although I thought I would lose my mind with the other two stories that played over and over, I could watch the Little Bill episode everyday. Good thing, because I think we have watched it 500,000 times.

The most amazing thing about the Little Bill stories,is that Bill Cosby has brought "every child" experiences to a child that just happens to be African American. Any child can watch these and say, "Hey, that kid is just like me!" What a wonderful gift!

I dare anyone not to get choked up as Little Bill and Alice the Great sing the Christmas Star song over the phone. I also dare anyone not to cheer on Little Bill as he races to get his most important ... Read More

VHS : Little Bill - Big Little Bill
We first started watching Little Bill when our girls were toddlers. It quickly became one of our favorites because of the way it addresses issues important to young children, because it so much less annoying than Oobi/Barney/Teletubbies, because it has great music, and because Little Bill is just so cute. It's also nice to see African Americans as the main characters instead of as extras to fulfill the carefully balanced, politically correct mix of skin colors you usually see, and this makes it easier to raise color-blind children. We're buying this video because our girls are in preschool and kindergarten now, and the TV show comes on while they're in school. We missed hearing his adorable little songs. :)

VHS : Little Bill - What I Did at School
We love the Little Bill video. My son is 3 and he can watch the video over and over without getting tired of the story line. The story lines are simplistic yet are relevant to preschoolers. I agree with another writer that Little Bill's character is five, but he appeals more to preschoolers. I highly recommend the Little Bill series.

Have never memorized a poem, but her brother could.
When Oliver asks for "more" our hearts are with him.
Maya Angelou says that they deserve more.
Her autobiographical description of being raped as a young girl and her
recovery is inspiring. I don't think a black class war on all white establishment efforts is right either.
I believe from my own experience that blacks do deserve more.
The black heritage is important to our culture.
It is by the vitality of the parts of our society that we
are served and serve. If you don't allow people fulfill their abilities their potential
is wasted for all.

VHS : Little Bill - I Love Animals
This movie has captured the attention of our almost 2 year old daughter! The boy, Little Bill, is sweet, kind and very much a typical 5 year old. I enjoy how the movie has action, yet does not go so fast that I have to explain everything to my daughter. She can understand the dialogue and enjoys every bit of it. Little Bill is great!

VHS : Ernest Green Story
The Little Rock Nine tryed in September 1957 to implement the Supreme Court decision of Brown vs. Board of Education. What follows was nine months of chaos, hatred, and courage that would forever change those involved, especially Ernest Green, the only senior. He would eventually become Assistant Secretary of Labor to Jimmy Carter. What he learned in that time was more valuable than any other experience he had. Hear him as he narrates the story, and see the obstacles he had to overcome. This movie also takes a look at the bigotry all nine students faced, and is a testiment to some of the lowest behavior the white race has ever participated in. It is also a testiment to the theory of non-violence in practice, and how one person's fight for what is right can truly make people question and change their beliefs. Excellent ... Read More
