VHS : Bond: Never Say Never Again
I wouldn't go out of my way for this if I wasn't a Bond completist, but NSNA seems to me to be a fair-to-middling Bond outing that compares favorably to its contemporary (1983) 'official' competition, OCTOPUSSY. Despite a low budget the film doesn't feel cheap, the recycled plot is one of the better ones, and Connery, although hamming it up a bit as a middle-aged superspy, is still everybody's favorite Bond.

If you're comparing this to the early Connery, or even the Pierce Brosnan period, forget it - done at the height (depth?) of the Roger Moore period, NSNA is full of tongue-in-cheek, but handled better, IMHO, than the corny Moore scripts. Q-Algy was less overdone than John Cleese, though James Fox's "M" dialogue was sometimes a bit too over-the-top, Barbara Carrera had to make ... Read More

VHS : The Amazing Adventures of Mr. Bean
If you like Mr. Bean, I'm sure you'll like this one.

If you don't know who Mr. Bean is, and you're American, think Kramer or Steve Martin in The Jerk, but with more British issues. Those issues seem to be a fear of looking stupid, a need to be "proper" but still satisfy your own needs...

I like these two American actors, but I'm sorry to say I couldn't stand Mr. Bean. I was held hostage during this video, honest. That is the only excuse I can offer.

When I was little, I used to rent this from a place called 'Movie Warehouse' It is now a Pawnshop, but I rented this a lot when I was a kid. Back in August, I bought it here, and watched it soon after I got it. Something was missing; when I rented it, they showed cartoon characters giving HALLOWEEN tips to stay safe, but when I got this, it didn't have it. I was kind of disappointed. If you love Scooby-Doo, and HALLOWEEN, you'll love SCOOBY-DOO: MOSTLY GHOSTLY!!!

VHS : Mr Bean 5
This Mr. Bean tape has two episodes on it: "Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean" and "Mr. Bean in Room 426". In "Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean", Mr. Bean celebrates Christmas in his own inimitable style. It begins with him going out to do some holiday shopping, and he winds up doing all sorts of various things, including conducting a Christmas band. (Trust me, you do NOT want to miss this part.)
The next day, which is Christmas, Mr. Bean invites his girlfriend Irma over for Christmas dinner, and he winds up "putting the turkey on"... in more ways than one.
I won't give away any more than that.

In "Mr. Bean In Room 426", Mr. Bean is staying in a hotel, but after he arrives, he finds himself in numerous predicaments: the room doesn't have a bathtub, the manager is a complete fusspot, and the oysters ... Read More
