The original "Arthur" is a classic, but this sequel is not as iconic. Arthur 2 is cute, but not all that fuffy. Even Dudley Moore, drunk acting was too staged and us inspired. Overall, I'd recommend it if you liked the first installment, but don't expect to much.

This is a fine movie from a veteran couple. The notes on the tumbleweeds, the romote western desert scenery, the stuggles, and the triumphs are classic cowboy poetry put to film. Look for a great old timer in this movie. Of Course, this is a Louis L'Amour story. It is written right and filmed right.

VHS : Ma & Pa Kettle at Home
The Indians try to make a fire in the Kettles fireplace the old fashion way, the smoke signal way. Judges are a comin' to award a child with a scholarship. However, who ever has the nicest looking farm and raises their kids in a good enviroment has a chance of winning. So the Kettles move back to the old farm (where they lived in their first film appearance THE EGG AND I [1947]) to fix it up. Funniest bit: Ma tries on a corset. Another funny bit: The town Indians had to read a book on "Indian Costumes" on how to dress (or be undressed) like their forefathers and learn to put on war mark make-up. Mary Wickes has a role as "Miss Wetter". The Kettles also have Christmas on the farm. The next film in the series is MA AND PA KETTLE AT WAIKIKI (1955).

I loved westerns since I was a kid. John Wayne was king for me when it came to the western genre. I believe two new stars have risen on the frontier; Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott. They both have made several movies and everyone of them John Wayne would watch, if he could, and enjoy.

At some point Murder in Texas will be released to DVD. Till then, let's see if we have the patience to wait this one out. I even suspect that a Widescreen format will be a suprise bonus to everyone.

This movie is still one of the funniest movies ever and with the most memorable, repeatable lines. It is a family favorite and has been for all these years.

VHS sucks, but this is one of the better sci fi/horror entries from the 1950's. Let's get this and a few others on DVD already.

A nice love story set in England at the toward the end of the war. There are some genuine human elements frequently avoided in war films, and they're covered realistically. The actors do a fine job. Visually it's a lovely film with the lone drawback of Robert Taylor cast in a role of a younger man. He didn't try to look or act too much younger (Holden's fatal flaw in Picnic), but the problem could have been avoided by just having the character be a little bit older.

10.The Legacy starring: Katharine Ross, Sam Elliott, Roger Daltrey, John Standing, Ian Hogg
