VHS : Isadora
before I saw this movie. And talk about type casting, Vanessa Redgrave is perfect as Izzy. She's just as dizzy. Izzy and her family were quite the bull chip artists. And these free spirit moms that don't think its necessary to marry the father of their offspring are the most selfish cows on the face of this miserable planet. Oh well at least she got preggy by wealthy men. But, it's the children who suffer. The movie was entertaining and Vanessa did a good job capturing the era. enjoy!

VHS : Not for Ourselves Alone - The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony
It would be totally inadequate for this reviewer to say that NOT FOR OURSELVES ALONE:The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony is simply a "must-see","well done","moving","dramatic","compelling"etc.etc. documentary of the two forgers of the early Woman's Suffrage Movement. This Ken and Paul Burns treatise has been so carefully, sensitively and lovingly handled, crafted and assembled that I was moved to anger, incredulity, sympathy, action and finally to just good ol'tears!
NOT FOR OURSELVES ALONE tells in vivid detail, based upon the enormous source material and writings and correspondence of the two amazing women of the 19th -century,Cady Stanton and Anthony, who almost in a battle alone, fought tirelessly for the equality and dignity and rights of all women to receive and exercise ... VHS : The Weavers - Wasn't That a Time!
Our fathers bled at Valley Forge, the snow was red with blood
Their faith was worn at Valley Forge,
Their faith was brotherhood.

Wasn't that a time, wasn't that a time?
A time to try the soul of men,
Wasn't that a terrible time?

Brave men who fought at Gettysburg now lie in soldiers' graves
But there they stemmed the rebel tide
And there their faith was saved.

Wasn't that a time, wasn't that a time?
A time to try the soul of men,
Wasn't that a terrible time?

The wars are long, the peace is frail, the madmen come again.
There is no freedom in a land where fear and hate prevail.

Isn't this a time, isn't this a time?
A time to try the soul of men,
Isn't this a terrible time? ... Read More

VHS : Vampire Call Girls
This DVD comes with one feature and one short.

Vampire Call Girls is a silly film. It is not surprising that it is an excuse to show topless women, but it makes little sense otherwise.

[...] No consistency.

The nude scenes are just that, with little or no action.

Battle of the Colossal Women makes even less sense.[...]

Both the battle and love scene between the two women are super staged and awkward. Both woman look like they want to look like they are trying to do something without actually touching; almost as if they are afraid of exceeding their contract.

For simple visual pleasure, Vampires is the better piece, but both are worse than much of what you can find on cable and TV.

6.Running with Jesse Jackson: A Video for Americans Who Vote starring: Imamu Amiri Baraka, Sheila Collins, Barry Commoner, Ron Dellums, Ronnie Gilbert
directed by: Leanna Wolfe

VHS : Dentist in the Chair
This is a fantastic and mildly amusing movie. Peggy Cummins, Bob Monkhouse and Kenneth Connor do their best but it just can't quite turn out the laughs intended. Director Don Chaffey did the best with what material he had. Perhaps they should have asked if there was a good screenwriter in the house.
